You may want to check on the list below. the lists says that if your memory card is greater that 1GB it will not work.

good thing you mentioned, do you have a card reader?

i'd suggest we format the memory card and then try it once again, because aside from the memory card, i am suspecting a short inside the unit. like when you put the memory card in, it is supposed to touch and push pins to operate, there is a possibility that a pin is on a wrong orientation and is touching a component which shuts the camera down.

Why is my camera freezing after 3 shoots

Do you just have to wait and it "unfreeze", or do you have to switch it of and on?
When it starts working after a few seconds, perhaps you have a slow memory card, and in 3 shots your buffer has filled up complete. Then it freezes to save the pictures you took. And as soon as the buffer is empty it is ready to shoot again.
But if it stays out till you switch of an on again, I would think something is defect in the camera.

Camera is frozen on last pic in on position

As soon as the camera memory access light stops blinking, and you can't switch of the camera, remove the battery. After a few seconds reinsert the battery and switch on the camera again. As long as the memory card is not fled, the camera should come on and work normal. Only is the error keeps coming back, you should contact a Nikon certified service centre closest to you.

Card error on camera screen after removing the memory card then replacing it

Your camera can use SD and SDHC cards. So if you only remover the card and then placed it back, nothing can be wrong. But while the card was out, did you do anything? Like placing it in a card reader and connect it to a PC? of just switched the little switch on the side of the card to locked? Or only did it in another camera and did a format in that camera?
Just a few things that you could have done while the card was out of the camera.
If there are no important pictures on the card, Just look if the switch on the memory card is not in the locked position, then put it back in the camera and give it a format.
If you have important picture on the card, first try to save the pictures on a computer. then try t format on the computer, with FAT 32. Then place the card back and doe a format in the camera.
Please let me know when it still does not work after that.

My camera says memory card is write protected, how can i remove this?

Hi, try to remove first the memory card inside your camera, most memory cards are inserted at the location of the battery also. Pull out the memory card after pulling out the battery. You can pull out the memory card by pressing it once and it should pop out automatically. If it's lose already, please check the sides of your memory card, there should be a small switch either color grey, orange or red and change the switch by clicking upwards or just the opposite side of the original place... the card then is not write protected anymore.

Cannon s5is powershot as soon as i turn camera on a memory card error comes up and theres no card in it, does same thing when card inserted. it's got to be something in the camera slot, is there a lock in...

On the SD card there is a little switch you can move. It has 2 positions, LOCKED, and UNLOCKED. To make the card available, put the switch in the UNLOCKED position.
Here is an example-

If that doesn't work, try putting the card into a memory card reader, like on your PC or a special USB attachment. If the memory card is recognized, then it might be a problem with your camera.

I have placed an external memory card in the camera and i dont know how to have the camera switch over to the memmory card, so that i can take more pictures.

It will automatically switch to external memory when you insert the card. Try to remove the card and clean the contacts using alcohol and reinsert it. If it still does not work then the card may not be compatible with the camera.

MEMORY CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED ISSUE

Hi,
Remove the write protect lock off by taking the card out of the camera, face the card towards you, look for a small white tab on the left hand side of the card, to unlock it push the tab down, it will be at the side of the card like this 59a6de4.jpg .

No memory card.

I have the same problem with my Canon G9. I have found a solution and since doing it the problem has only happened once again. Here is the solution: I have a 32mb sd card that was given with the camera when I bought it. This card has different connectors than the ones that are used on the usual SD cards. As soon as this card is inserted the camera works properly and all other cards work fine after. I'm assuming that the sd card circuit blocks and this 32mb card unblocks it somehow... Hope this will help you.
