SOURCE: Projection Lamp for Philips 60PL9200D/37 TV

More than likely the problem is the CRT fluid and not the tube. Do a few google or fixya searches on CRT fluid and to get an idea of what it looks like when it gets cloudy.

SOURCE: Philips 60PL9200D/37 - dark picture for two weeks

Hi,

There is a very good chance that we have a bad lamp here again. Which is about the best case for you.
I think the first thing we should do here is take it out and inspect it. We might find that it is shattered and know without a doubt that it needs to be replaced.

Also if you don't know about the lamps in these sets here is some information: These lamps are a "consumer replaceable item" meaning they are made for you to change. This is similar to changing a light bulb in a lamp but allot more expensive and a little more difficult. These lamps last on average anywhere from 1 to 3 years before they need to be changed. They also burn out based upon the number of hours the tv is on and the number of times the tv is turned on in its life. The more you watch the tv the faster the lamp will burn out, and the more you turn the tv on and off the faster it will burn out. There is really no way to prolong the life of a lamp other than not watch the tv, so most people don't worry about it to much and just expect for this to happen ever couple of years.

Let me know,so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My phillips 60 inch tv 60pl9200d/37 wont turn on the power button flashes blue

Look in the manual. (Page 4)

Turn the TV on From main supply: Ensure that the main supply is turned on. A blue indicator light on the front of the TV lights up. When the TV is turned on by the main supply, the blue indicator light will blink for 45 seconds. This is the lamp's start-up period. When the light goes off, press the POWER button on the remote control or power switch. Press POWER to turn on the TV.

Philips 60pl9200D/37. Two Red lights on power button.

If the power button is displaying the bulb fault indicator AND overheat indicator lights at the same time, it indicates a faulty cooling fan. The television is smart enough to detect when either of the two cooling fans in the chassis have failed, or aren't spinning fast enough. To prevent overheating and damage, the set will not turn on if a fan is faulty. You'll need a replacement fan.
