Question about Raypak Pool & Spa

1 Answer

Hi, The pilot won't light on our RayPak Pool/Spa heater, model C-R266A-EN-C (maybe RP2100). When we turn on the heater, the status says CFH, then SPK, and then just makes continual clicking noises. The status never changes from SPK, however it seems like it is trying to go from SPK to soemthing else, but it's hard to read because it changes too quickly. It looks like it may be saying CLK. My husband said to tell you the control panel clicks (where it plugs in to the pilot) but the pilot is not arcing. He said even if it's not getting gas, the pilot should still at least arc (i.e. spark). Ideas? Thanks! Leslie

I am thinking it could be the relay. The relay directs the power to the device. In most devices it is the one that makes the 'clicking' sound.

    you would need to have it replaced with the same one. The switch inside it may not be completing the loop inside that is why you may not be getting the arc. Otherwise it could be the control board.

Why do I get CFH but then no SPK?

CFH = Call For Heat
SPK = Ignitor is Sparking - attempting to ignite raw fuel

In a lot of cases, Pressure Switch opens up, CFH , is cancelled and therefor no ignition sequence.
try cleaning filter really good. If cartridge, may be time for an overnight soak.

Raypak pool heater - error code is "FAN"

In models older than 07-07 it typically indicates a loss of the pilot light.
In models newer than 07-07 it is probably the air switch not being activated, or it has just failed. Check air switch tubing for secure connections.
