Key board letter stuck

Buy a can of compressed air, attach straw, slightly lift one side of key and give a few good blasts of air in the hopes it will loosen the key, repeat as needed. If no change! you can hook a external keyboard or replace the laptop keyboard.

Laptop keyboard not working

Usually in my experience most laptop keyboards are disposable. I have 2 suggestions for you.
1. buy a new same brand keyboard.
2. remove the flex connector, then use an external usb keyboard, or a bluetooth wireless keyboard.

hope it helps your problem.

LifeBook T4210, some letters ont the keyboard doesn't work

hello

Some of the letters stop working due to dust that stuck between the pad and board..Or due to degradation.

So you can try cleaning the keyboard with vacuum cleaner and clean properly between the keys.

If the keys still don't work you can replace the keyboard as it is replaceable.

Thank you

Gateway ma3 keyboard problem

The problem seems to be that the pressure pad underneath the key is stuck on the "activated" position. Taking the keyboard out would not affect the position of the pressure pad. Also attaching a USB key board will not make any difference since the original keyboard is still electrically connected and has priority over any external plug n play devices. A new set of keyboard pressure pads should solve this. I suggest taking it to your local computer repair centre.

M letter on gateway laptop not working

Start by taking the key off, be gentle and try to leave the retainer on the board. Check to see if the rubber depressor has shifted, is stuck in the depressed position, or has some dust/dirt in it or on the contact point. Cleaning the depressor or the contact point wouldn't hurt either. Check the contact point by pressing it with your finger or a pencil eraser. If the contact point works, then put the key back on and try it. If the depressor is good, then check the keyboard connection, they will sometimes work loose or get a little dirt/corrosion build up. If the connection is good, then I'm afraid a keyboard replacement is your only option.

Help please tell me why my keys will not work on my laptop.

Try using an external USB desktop keyboard (or a PS2 keyboard, if you have a PS2 jack on the laptop).

If everything works then, your laptop keyboard is malfunctioning. This is usually due to one of three causes:

1. One key is stuck in the "down" or "depressed" position (collapsed/dented silicone cup beneath, or damaged flex legs under key). Look at the keyboard from the side, to see f any key looks lower than the rest (or higher than the rest) Be careful taking it apart to clean and reassemble.

2. Bad ribbon connector, torn, or merely corroded/oxidized keyboard cable connector. This requires opening the laptop to fix. Usually 2-3 screws under laptop labeled as keyboard, allow it to be pried off. Release the cable LOCK, and remove the thin ribbon cable. Reinsert it 5-6 times to clean off contacts, and LOCK the jack again once you are sure it is all snug. If the ribbon was TORN, you will need a new one. Good luck, not easy to find on old laptops.

3. Worst scenario... someone spilled coke (the worst) or beer/beverage inside the keyboard. This eats up the printed oxide connectors, and this cannot be repaired. you will need a new keyboard assembly.. Use a magnifying glass to look between keys, to see if there is stickey, gooey material there. This would be the bad news indicator for number 3.

3 KEYS OF KEY BOARD NOT WORKING AND S IS STUCK

You need to clean the keyboard. Blow it with air blower so that the paricles inside keyboard will be eliminated. If not work, then you disassemble the keyboard and clean the key one by one. afraid to do , then let the repairman do it for you or you can attach USB keyboard for the laptop.

Acer Aspire 5610 - one key does not work

Laptop keyboard are semi-sealed circuit boards. This means that liquid can get into the contacts and can not be cleaned. Depending on how much liquid was spilled on the keyboard chances are that the liquid has seeped around the edges of the keyboard and down onto the mainboard of the laptop. My first suggestion would be to keep the laptop turned off until you can remove the keyboard and check for liquid damage to the mainboard. If there is no damage to the mainboard I would suggest buying a new keyboard before turning the computer back on as any shorts caused by the liquid damage on the keyboard can cause damage to the keyboard controller circuit on the mainboard.
