The tube has two elements to it, the size and the valve.

The size of the tube will correspond to the size on the tire. Look right on the side of the tire something like 26 x 2.0 or 700c x 23c will be written on the tire. both of these numbers tell you what size tube

The Valve is easier: you either have a Schraeder or a Presta. The Schraeder is the same as on a car the Presta is a thin metal tube with a tip you have to unscrew.

I need to know how to change a back inner tube on a 16" huffy bike no gears

Sue, there are lots of how-to videos out there about this. Just google "How to change bike tube" or tire, or flat. You have to remove the wheel, which is easiest with TWO wrenches - they can be the adjustable "Crescent" wrenches, but don't use pliers. You also have to remove the small screw that holds the fat little L-shaped lever to bike. Use a rag to remove the chain from the cog on the wheel. Then use the little "Tire irons" to remove the tire from the rim and get the old tube out - these come three to a set, the plastic ones are best, and you can get them at K-mart. Also, use some baby powder (talc is better than cornstarch) to make the new tube easier to position correctly in the tire - sprinkle the powder inside the tire when you have if off and put the tube in the tire before you put the tire back on the rim. It helps if you put a little air in the tube to make it a nice sausage first. And make sure you get the valve stem straight and pulled all of the way through the hole in the rim. Be very careful that you don't pinch the tube against the rim when you put the tire back on. And the hardest part might be getting a pump to hold tight onto the valve stem - using compressed air (like at a gas station) is by far the easiest method. Good luck.

I have a Mongoose Maneuver with flat tires. The bike hasn't been ridden in awhile. Do I need new tubes or just need air in the tires? The bike is 14-15 yrs old and has original tubes. Thanks.

If the bike was ridden with flat tires, then go for new tubes. If it was stored outside all that time, then go for new tubes AND tires. If it was out of the sun and not in a hot attic all that time, then just re-inflate. Good luck.

My airhead viper 2 inner tube has a hole, how do i fix it?

If this is a natural rubber tube, the good old bike patch kit will do.If it is a vinyl tube, there is a type A or type B.(Different chemical makeups in different types of vinyl will only adhere to the same type).I don't know how to tell which type of vinyl is which,so get one of each type(at a sports eqipment store). If the first one doesn't adhere, you should be able to clean it off and try the other kind.

Have a flat tire and need to find a replacement

The easiest thing to do is go to a local bike shop ... bring the flat inertube to them... If you can bring it to one of the mom and pop stores usually you get better service and they know alot more than the huge retail stores... ie.. Garts.. Dicks.. Scheels.. etc.. they may even be able to patch it up for you .. hope this helps..I know when I need a replacement if I bring the whole bike in they will even put the new tube on the tire for free,,,

My jeep jogging stroller has a flat. Do I need to

Replacement tube may be more beneficial even though the fix/patch may be cheaper. If you live in an area that have varying climate, the patch along with the repaired tube can expand and contract and may cause small leak if not repaired properly.

Otherwise I would get the right size tube, most jogging strollers are either 12" or 16" tube inside and can be bought from your local bicycle store. With that, you'll need bicycle tire levers which can also be bought at the bike shop. Just about any type of tire levers will do. Of course I'm sure your bike shop can do this for you to possibly for free with a purchase of replacement tube!

What size tire tube goes in a 700x28c Denali Bike tire? I installed a schwinn 26inch tube, rode the bike around the block, parked it in the garage and two hours latter, sitting in the garage, the tube blew...

700c tyres are bigger than 26".The tubes you need measure 700x28 (to32).This size is used in Hybrid style bikes.Make sure you get the same type of valve(Schreader are the same as car,Presta are narrower)or it won't fit the hole in your rim.
Make sure when inflating that the tube isn't trapped between the tyre and the rim.Only inflate to the pressure written on the sidewall of the tyre.

Back tire changing on mongoose gravity games bike. How do you change the back tire in this bike? It is very hard and confusing. I don't know how to do it. I need help.

If you have pegs on the back you will need a deep socket to fit the nut and a socket extender and a socket wrench. with the wheel off it is just the same as changing any other bike tire. Just make sure you check the inside of the tire carefully for anything poking through that may puncture your new tube. Also check to see if you need a new tire and make sure you inflate the repaired tire to the correct pressure or you may get a pinch flat.

Flat tire--not fixable--is bubbling

I advise you try the shop where it came from for a replacement tube for it.

Failing that, 'phone the manufacturer to have one sent out.
