This is a 3 and 1/2 ton unit.
The 042 in the model number is the tonnage of your carrier unit.
AC tonnage is based on 12,000 btu per ton.
12,000.....1 ton
18,000.....1 and 1/2 ton
24,000.....2 ton
30,000.....2 and 1/2 ton
36,000.....3 ton
42,000.....3 and 1/2 ton
48,000.....4 ton
60,000.....5 ton.
There is no 4 and 1/2 ton unit.

Tonnage is not used much as a rating anymore. That model is a 3 ton. The rating used now is either BTU or SEER.

Hi, this is a 2 ton unit. The 024 in the model number tells me this. There are 12,000 btus per ton, so 2xo.12=0.24 which is 2 tons or 2x12=024. Good luck,

Pa12NA048-d. How many tons is this unit? It's 7 years old and went out. Needs replacing.

Hi, the tonnage is a 4 ton unit. It says in the model number, the 048. There is 12,000 btu's per ton of cooling. So, on your unit 4x12=48= a 4 ton unit.
Good Luck,

Workman@gmail.comneed to find tonnage of 1973 carrier model # 38AD024400

Hi, the tonnage of this unit is a 024, which is a 2 ton. There are 12, btu's per ton of cooling, and this number will always be in the model number of the unit. If it were a 21/2 ton it would say 030, 3 ton is 036 and so on. Please feel free to rate me, and I thank you very much.

What is the seer rating and tonnage of a bryant model fb4anf030

The Tonnage appears to be 2 1/2 ton,
024=24,000 BTU=2ton
030=30,000 BTU=2 1/2ton
036=36,000 BTU= 3ton

I dont think you have the correct Model Number, Look
on the outdoor unit, the model number might start with a 38. Hint Carrier and Bryant Products are the Same, just different nametag

Tonnage of unit

Listed at Carrier at 2,330 Kilos so math says 2,330 X 2.2 = 5,126 lbs or about 2.5 tons though they listed it as a 3.5 ton max back when they sold this model.
