The 42CVI has both composite and component video in the standard configuration. Either of these should connect to your Wii console. You will get better results if you use component video (3 RCA plugs on each end of the wire for video (Y,Pb,Pr); use a second cable with two RCA plugs on each end for audio.) The Component video is Input-4. The component video cable is usually not provided with the game console. There are 2 composite video inputs on the TV (these use one wire with 3 RCA plugs on each end of the cable for video (yellow) and audio (red and white)).

I hope this helps.

There are no connections for the red whits and yellow AV cable in the new smart TV can i eliminate this cable and use a USB cable in its place this is for a wii

The usb port in Wii is for input devices (i.e. external HDD, Wii keyboard etc.) and can't use it to output signal going to your TV , its only the AV cable supplied by wii you can use to connect to tv. If the TV has no RCA input (yellow, white & red connections) you can buy AV to HDMI adaptor or AV to VGA adaptor to connect your wii to your new tv model.

We are trying to set up wii-through the dvr to play on Sharp LC-PD50U-unable to get it to work.

Connect the Wii directly to the TV either using the HDMI cable or the Hi def cable(5 RCA connectors) that come with the Wii. Then select the input number on the TV to get a picture .

Our Wii turns on - with sound but no picture. Our cables are connected right

I recommend trying a different television set. That can eliminate the Wii or the TV as the issue. You might have a bad cable too, I know those RCA cables can look OK but have broken wires inside the insulation (assuming you are using RCA cables)

a 3D tv is another form of an HD TV, you need the Wii HD cable to play it right, and make sure you plug it into the HD ports on the TV to get the color and sound back.

Wii systme not working

Just press the input button on your remote controller until the screen comes up. Make sure you are plugging the RCA (Red/Yellow/White) cable into the standard input cables on your TV.

I just bought a new plasma tv. I cannot seem to

You Plasma TV is probably an HDTV, which means you need to change the settings on your Wii to HD. Just go to the Wii menu and modify the TV settings. If you don't want to do that, make sure you connect your RCA cables to the non-HD slots on your TV so that the yellow RCA cable is in the yellow slot and not the green HD slot.

Bought a Wii and using the standard cables it played great on a new 50' Panasonic Plasma as well as on our 2 year old 32' VIZIO LCD. Just upgraded to a 46' Sony LCD (W series) and the Wii looks terrible...

The Wii can display on a HDTV, but keep in mind the output is only 480p. It is not true high definition, and it will only display this using a component video cable. There shouldn't be a difference with LCD and plasma.

You will also need to go to the display settings to force the Wii to display in 480p.

Try a different input (safe to assume your Sony has multiple?) and see if it is that specific input. Also, try a different device like a DVD player or VCR and see if you get the same result.

Good luck.

I need to know how to hook up a nintendo wii to my sony fwd-42pv1 plasma. I also have a problem with green pixels in dark areas of my picture

This is pretty easy. Just buy the cables that have S-Video connection. Then plug the wii into the S-Video in on the left side of the monitor. Plug the Audio cables to your reciever or speaker in port on your sound system. Or, the other option is to Find or get a BNC to RCA adapter and use the RCA cable that came with the wii. My TV came with the BNC to RCA Adapter. The BNC location is on the left side of the tv, just above the S-Video connection. Then just change the input selector till you get the right input.
