It needs replacing if ur frig is under warranty see to have it fixed if not write down your model number down and replace it most of the time it needs cleaning and might be off balance and hitting its housing, i try cleaning it with compressed air or shut the frig off removing it and cleaning the unit.

Amana refrigerator has a ticking sound near the fan

could be the fan motor, compressor or when the compressor is running it could be vibration in the frame, what fan are you talking about, the condenser fan where the compressor is or the evap fan in the freezer?you just have to try and listen and feel the compressor and fan motor when it's running and try to tell were it's coming from,if it's the compressor just use it till it dies,it could run like that for years but i wouldn't take a chance,i would buy a new fridge if it's a fan motor i would fix it.

Ice builds up in freezer, and vibration noise only when freezer is closed. When freezer open vibration noise stops. starts when pressing the switch which turns off the light.

Replace the fan motor AND blade . ( evaporator fan motor ) . This motor is located inside the freezer , behind the rear panel . The switch , is a fan/light switch , when closed , turns on fan , and light off . When open , light on , and fan off . normal operation .

Warm in freezer and refrig

On some Amana refrigs , the defrost thermostat has to close before the fan will come on . The coils will get cold and since the bimetal clips onto the coils , it will get cold as they do . When cold enough , bimetal closes and the fan will come on . Are the coils getting cold ? If so , then the compressor is working . You could also have a bad fan motor instead of bimetal . Recheck to see if you hear the fan in freezer now .

Freezer getting too cold, even on lowest setting. condensor icing up. Refrig does not shut off when control is set below the 1 setting, unless you bang the control plate.

you have a bad thermostat that is **** on the on position . You can get a universal replacement or manufacture replacement as both will work fine. Only difference will be the length of the bulb.Easy fix ,just two wires. hope this helps.

A motor fan not the fan

It is easy to replace. Just unplug the unit from the wall and cut the wires. Just two wires. Fan blades just unscrew from center. Should have a housing holding the motor in place. Does the fan run at all? Is it very noisy? Squealing, maybe vibration. ken

Our refidgerater is not cold enough running at about 50 degrees

hows the freezer?? is only the refrig warm and freezer still frezzing?? if so id open the freezer door and listen for a fan motor, it should be spinning to circulate air to the top sect(refrig). if not on sounds like a bad fan.. if the fan is on but the rear panle is completly iced over, sounds like a defrost issue
