If you buy the replacement QuikLocKit assembly they have detailed instructions in it. But here is a simple method. Unplug the tool remove the shoe, remove the small retaining ring, and then the collar, twist the inner mechanism slightly to remove the pin and the rest pulls off. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Portercable 737 tigersaw can't keep a blade in the quick latch

You can try spraying some lubricant into the blade holder. Sometimes the "ball" in the shaft gets stuck from dirt. Otherwise you will need to disassemble it by removing the roll pin that holds the collar on the shaft.

Blade will not release on sawsall

ok first this is in the chainsaw category and since they don't make one,, I'll assume you mean a sawzall, if you have the quick release ( which is a joke and is a bad part ) your going to have to breal off the blade at the section that it reduces ( where it goes into the holder) unscrew the ringnut that releases the blade, and take it all apart. be careful there is a ballbearing sitting inside there that will roll right out and naturally get lost in the mix. once apart you can remove the last of the blade. Now if your really lucky, you can clean it,, lightly oil this piece , and reassemble it,, and it will work, I have 3 and have replaced that part on all 3 of them,, Now if its an older model that still has the set screw hold down,, Just unscrew the setscrews and remove the blade, ( some have 2 some just one set screw depending on the model

Need to remove and then replace blade clamp on DW305 Type 1. how do you remove the blade clamp? I see two pins

Hello Hollister, on this peticular sawzall they are using a roll pin to hold the blade holder on. If you remove the blade clamp screw, you can move the blade holder back and forth on it. You will need to get a very small punch and drive it all the way out. Look at the picture below. You will need to remove (38) and (52). It will make it much easier.

I hope this helps. If you run into trouble, I'll walk you through it, just post back.
