Question about Frigidaire Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

I have a Frigidare condenser M# FS5BD-036KA which is 2 yrs. old. It starts up great but when it shuts down it gives off a loud clanging noise that the customer hears inside. I've checked the amps on the fan motor and the scroll compressor, both normal. I've cleaned the condenser coil, I've replaced the contactor. I checked inside the unit and found no scars or scatches on the blades or the coil walls. I have installed many scroll compressor condensers and never had a problem until now. What have I missed? I'm at my wits end.

The motor works as required at start up and keeps running without any out of kelter movement. I have watched the shut down phase of the unit and the motor doesn't spin erratically. As I stated before, there are so signs of blade scratches, dents or dings inside The loud noise seems to be either the compressor or the tie down bolts which I checked and found them tight. The noise is so loud it vibrates the window by the unit.

The noise is most probably , due to motor. The motor reading is showing perfect, as per you , but still the motor is making noise. The motors internally, jams the fan speed and this makes the noise. If you have spare fan motor or same identical part.Try check with that and confirm.---------- Check out.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

Keep eye on the compressor and inspect, if its making noise. At that time is the noise internal or external. If its internal, then compressor is the issue, but if its external, then the bolts are to be checked and exactly what part is making that noise has to be inspected, during the time of noise. The part/ section of the unit from where noise is coming, keep that visible and and run the unit. This will pin point to the noise cause. Also check, if all the bolts are connected or any of the one bolt is getting in between or not fitted.--------Check out.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

Have your CV boots and half shafts checked. If these are cracked, they will dry out and cause a lot of noise when turning. Also check your swaybar links, these cause a lot of noise also, but not only while turning.

Very loud clanging noises started while driving

Try to remove the belt for the ac and see if you still hear the noise, as it sounds like you may have blown the seal or bearing out of the ac compressor , not sure just a guess.

FRIGIDARE FRONT LOAD WASHER,2+YRS OLD ON FINAL HIGH SPEED SPIN MACHINE MAKES LOUD VIBRATION NOISE AND FIND NEED TO SHUT DOWN DUE TO FRANTIC VIBRATION AND NOISE.

It is possible the bearings on the motor that spins the canister could be going bad especially at the high speed. This could also be from clothes getting unbalanced in the final spin cycle. Hope this helps. This could still possibly under warranty!

We have a Frigidare S3BA-036KA split condenser with a badly rusted Compressor run capacitor. What is the correct capacitor for this unit?

I Had a similar problem with my Air Conditioning unit, the repair man said without the information their was nothing he could do, but that he would go look for it.

This is what i was able to find, This litterally all just took place within the past hour so i don't know if its workable information, but here is my two and a half cents.

Whirlpoor Refridgerator 10-12 yrs old

I had a whirlpool fridge that did the exact same thing. Sometimes it was loud enough to wake me up at night! It is the compressor shutting down. I had it for several years untill I purchased a larger one, and then gave it to a girlfriend at least a year ago. Its still working good today. So if you can tollerate it, just live with it. Otherwise change the compressor.

Looks like we all got screwed with this TV. Mine just started after 2 years and now it's getting louder. I think I rather call my lawyer than Tech. This product is NOT build properly and someone should let the company know about it.
