Try less depth with the edger an also buy a better brand of string.

Why does the string keep breaking on a task force electric weed eater

Hello, When the string gets old it dries out and becomes brittle. I soak my trimmer string in water until I am ready to use it. The string actually absorbs some water and stays flexible. Try it.

String keeps breaking

The string is either too old or you are hitting hard objects, or both.

GL 320 String trimmer - nylon string keeps breaking

It sounds like the sting is wound backwards. Try winding a short piece in the opposite direction. If it is backwards, it will be gone in a hurry.

My line on my grasshop keeps getting longer and longer....it doesn't cut as used. How come?

There should be a metal knife attached to the inside of the guard housing. This knife will keep the string at a length that keeps it within the housing. It is either screwed or snapped in place. If present, clean the debri away from it so it can cut the line as it should.

I have a Black and Decker Grass Hog trimmer and I can't get it

There is only a couple of reasons that I can think of that would cause this

1. The string is wound the wrong direction; it should be wound clockwise on the spool. (This is my bet.)

2. Or maybe, the string is too small for your particular trimmer, but this is very doubtful.

SPOOL

You have the string wound the wrong way. Wind in the other direction.

String breaking

Check to ensure that the string is the correct size as specified in the owners manual. If ok check age of the string. If old it has a tendancy to be brittle. If new and supple try letting the trimmer get up to full speed and let the tip of the string do the cutting. Avoid taking on too much at once with this trimmer as the electric and battery trimmers are not as powerful as their gas counterparts. I hope this helps.
