Question about Mpio FL100 MP3 Player

Open Question

When I connect my MPIO MG100 MP3 player to my home or work computer, both computers don't recognize it. It did recognize it before, a few months ago, but now it won't. I can open the player on my computer, but I can't download any songs. I can delete songs through the computer, but they still show up on the player. I'm this close in buying a new player.

My mpio mg100 keeps freezing, i have to keep resetting it?

Hello

The freezing may be as a result of;

Outdated Firmware
1. Every few months,the manufacturer will publish a firmware update designed to fix bugs in the previous firmware and improve the overall function of the device. To check for updates, connect your player to your computer and open the player software. If you are connected to the Internet, the software will automatically check for updates. If an update is available, a notification window will pop up. Click on the notification to start the new firmware download.

After downloading it installs the new firmware automatically and you are good to go

The freezing might also be as a result of corrupt firmware and you will have to re-format the player,the firmware and all the content will need to be wiped and re-installed.

To do this, you will need to connect your player to your computer,. Launch Windows Media Player while the device is plugged in. Click on the "Sync" button. You should see your player pop up at the bottom of the device list. Left-click once to highlight it, and then right-click to bring up a sub-menu. Select "Format" from the list. All of your content will be deleted and the firmware will be reinstalled.

Unreadable directory by recent windows XP laptop

MPIO Utility can be used with MPIO player that supports USB Mass Storage.
With this, you can..
- Format and Recover MPIO player
- Upgrade firmware of MPIO flash-type player
- Building playlist of MPIO hdd-type player

* Supported OS : Windows 98 SE, ME, 2000, and XP
* MPIO Utility doesn't work with FL200 and FY300.
* If you are using the latest firmware, be sure to use the latest version of MPIO Utility.
* Please uninstall the old version of MPIO Utility before installation.

[Download]You can redownload drivers and first uninstall the old one's.RICHARDM69

Computer Won't Recognize Device

Try plugging your USB cable (attached to your player) into the computer before you turn the computer on and boot up . . . I had this same problem with a flash drive that the computer would not recognize if I plugged it into the computer while the computer was already on.

Turn off the unit and connect it to the computer.
The computer should recognize the player.
Run a program called Mpio Utility (Can be found on the CD or Mpio.com)
Select format & Config
That should do the trick.

Or go to www.mympio.com
