I have the exact same problem, it comes and goes, but i noticed that the screen was flickering more when the projector was tilted up a bit.
I shifted the cable from s-vhs to vga and now i dont have this problem so often anymore.
I also have the common problem that it sometimes wont start up when i power it on, it seems to be a loose wire somewhere, but i just give it a punch on the head and then it starts..

Light was flickering before the bulb blew out. Will replacing the bulb eliminate the flickering?

I had the same problem and took the machine to be repaired. The problem was diagnosed as a power supply connection that was bad. It was repaired and worked fine for 4 months and now the problem is back.

Our Lp70+ started to flicker a month ago. Not always, but from time to time. I was certain the lamp was going to die so I ordered a new one for 246 €. Just to realize that I have the same flicker with the new lamp. Tried it with two different computers (one with ATI graphics card and one with a NVidia graphics card. Power supply? Cable error? Who knows?

I had the same problem before the bulb blew out. Is this just a precursor to bulb failure and replacing the bulb would fix the problem? Or is it a more serious problem that may cause a second bulb to blow?

When power button is turned on it has a orange light and the lamp button is red. It is not the bulb because it worked in another projector of the same kind.

The bulb is not lighting.
Make sure the covers are going on correctly if I remember this one has an inner cover as well.
There is a little micro switch that needs to be operated by cover going on correctly.
also check the plugs / connectors are ok.

Optoma HD 70 turns on with lamp and temo soiled lights

Asher fadida and alll,

The issue:
solid red error light?
HD70 "die's" after few min with strage noise?
flickers different colors before complete self shutdown?

well try this....

Before replacing your bulb, fan or any other component try first cleaning your optoma realy good!! HD70 doesnt comes with any kind of filter so you can imagine the amound of dust can be.
The most importent thing is to blow away any dust from your color wheel + the sensor attached to it .

for farther troubleshoting clean your fan's.
there are 2 fan's insinde the HD70.

probably the most problems will be solved by cleening the color wheel!!
if the problem is not solved ,chack the lemp and the fans if they work properlly.

For fan replacing:
Fan Part number: GM1207PKVX-A

The light from the projector on my infocus lp70+ flickers kind of like a regular bulb that's going bad.somtimes the unit goes on for a few minutes and then it goes off by itself. any help is appreciated.

the colorwheel needs replacing. in order for the lamp to strike and stay on, the colorwheel has to stay at a certain speed to sync with the dlp. if the speed is off, the lamp won't stay on.

Dell 1100mp "Temp" Light

I had the same problem and fixed it today. The fan is 70 x 70 x 20mm. I could not find the exact one, but 70 x 70 x 15 works just fine and I was able to find that fan at a Micro Center store for $8.99. The fans should be blowing air out from the front of the machine, not blowing in on the lamp.
