Take it back for repair as it should be under warranty it sounds like a hard drive problem but would need some tests to confirm .

  1. Use the app What Keeping Me to determine which process your Mac is running which is keeping you from emptying your trash. (If there's only one file in your trash, look for the file under the heading Files in Trash in the What's Keeping Me app).
  2. Click Search Selection.
  3. Take note of the name of the process that appears.
  4. Open the Mac app Activity Monitor (it's in your Utilities folder, which is in your Applications folder).
  5. Search for the process you noted earlier, then click the Quit Process button (or press these three keys: option+command+Q.

Control panel

If you are running Win7 or vista you could right click an empty spot on your desktop and select "new"
then select "folder".
rename the folder : God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
after that the icon will change to one called God Mode and you can have total control of your PC, including opening control panel.

I have just purchsed a 4gb usb2 flash drive . I am wanting to copy some pictures from my desktop and put them on my new laptop . Can anyone tell me how to do this in simple language as i do not understand...

Hi. All you have to do is:

- Insert your new USB flashdrive in an empty USB slot in your desktop computer.

- A new window will appear and will ask you what you want to do with that device... Choose "Open folder to view files".

- Then just leave it there and go to the file(s) you want to copy, right click on i and click "copy"

- Go back to your USB folder, right click on an empty space on that folder and click "paste". That will copy the files into your USB flashdrive.

- Remove the USB flashdrive from your desktop.

- Insert it into your laptop's empty USB slot.

- A new window will appear and will ask you what you want to do with that device... Choose "Open folder to view files".

- Highlight all the files you want to copy from USB flashdrive folder, right click and click "cut".

- Go to your laptops folder where you want to copy the files, right click on an empty space and click "paste".

Thanks for using Fixya!

How do you burn a cd on this notebook?

  1. Insert a writeable CD or DVD into your computer's CD or DVD recorder.
  2. In the dialog box that appears, click Burn files to data disc.
  3. In the Burn a Disc dialog box, type a name for this disc, and then click Next.
It might take several minutes for the disc to be formatted in the default Live File System format. When the formatting is complete, an empty disc folder opens.
  4. Open the folder that contains the files you want to burn, and then drag the files into the empty disc folder.

cdb4d559-8825-47a1-8175-79020965d91c.pngYou can copy files to the disc folder by dragging them to the disc icon or to an open disc folder As you drag files into the disc folder, they are copied automatically to the disc.
But I recommend you to use any CD or DVD burning software like Nero, BurnAware etc. There are lots of free burning tools available on Internet too.

Why I recommend third party software is because you can select burn speed plus minimum disc burning error.

When I close Windows Mail my Inbox emptys. Help!

You really should install service pack two and all other updates, b/c you are leaving yourself wide open for all sorts of problems and malware. There is a remote possibility that someone set your inbox properties to archive or empty upon closing. You can right click on your inbox folder and go to properties, auto-archive, and check the length of time mail is to be kept. Exact instructions are difficult w/o knowing the program you are using. You can also search deleted and archive folders for lost mail. You should run a full virus scan and look for trojans immediately.6df770b.jpg

I have recently noticed when i open a folder on my HP laptop that if i open a subfolder, it will not open it in its own screen. it will continue to use one screen, forcing me to have to use the ''back''...

Press the [Windows] key on your keyboard together with E. Then a folder window opens. Press the [Windows]E pair 2 or 3 times to open more windows. In each window the folder list appears on the left side.

In one window, click on the the folder you wish to open. Move on to next window, open another folder and so on. The you can switch between the windows.

If you reduce the size of the windows, you can keep them side by side and see both at the same time.

Best of luck
