Is the breaker a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupt) or is it a standard breaker? Have you used the unit at someone else's house successfully? Have you used it at your house successfully? Is there a grounding plug on the pressure washer (three prong)? From what you provided we can't tell if it is a short, a circuit overload, or something else.

If the breaker in the house does not trip with any other appliance connected to it ie another electric motor say a pool pump or electric motor from a circular saw and does not trip

then it sounds like your blaster has a electric phase to earth short circuit
it will be pulling a very large current

i suggest you take it to your local electrical repair shop to check this out

Check the circuit breaker for the house. It might be tripped. Sometimes a breaker will trip without moving the handle to indicate a trip. Reset the breaker several times.

Welder when turn on trips the breaker

Would you write back and clarify what steps you have taken to narrow down your search? I'd like to know if the breaker is weak and needs to be replaced. Have you plugged your welder into another receptacle to see if it trips that breaker? I don't think the trigger has to do with this problem. The symptom is that as soon as you turn the welder on, it then trips the breaker. So this tells me that the electrical cord is not shorted. When the breaker trips, is there any delay or is it instant? If there is a delay, does it sound like it does while you are welding? Do you hear that "Transformer, buzzing noise"? The trigger activates the feed motor, that alone isn't enough to trip this breaker. Which make and size welder do you have? I really am dependent on detailed information, you are my eyes and ears. Please write back with any questions or new details and I'll do my best to help, good luck.

When the welder is first turned on I can weld with gas for about 5 seconds. Then the breaker trips. ( i have the proper wiring and breaker). The more times I reset the breaker the shorter the weld time...

Hi:
Just make sure that if you are using an extension cable between your machine and the power outlet, this cable is at least a 12 gauge size, if you are using a 14 or 16 it's too small to handle the amps.
Other point is to check that your breaker is 20 or 30 Amp capacity.
Hope this help.

Please don't give me a bad rating for this. Its just a little extra info. you didn't mention that may help you find the problem. Depending on your specific model, there should be 1 or 2 breakers on the unit it self. If there is only 1, it will shut down the entire machine when tripped. If there are 2, the top one is for the whole unit and the lower one is for the wire feeder motor only. There is also a thermal overload that will shut down everything except the cooling fan. Secure the trigger closed and let the fan run for a while to see if it re-starts when cooled. If the depth of the weld was stable before the problem occurred, I would suspect a short in the motor and not the rectifier. That is not a sure bet though. If the transformer does not start when it cools, UNPLUG the welder and short the transformer to ground to be sure the capacitor is discharged. Then isolate the feed motor and transformer and use an OHM meter to test them individually to ground for a short. With a little luck, it will be the feed motor. Please let me know if this helped at all. I am new and still learning how to explain what I am thinking. Thanks for writing us.

A/C keeps tripping the meter box, if i reset trip switch A/C works fine for abot 20mins then trips again.purchased Dec 2008

Replace the breaker in the house circuit it is probably weak, make sure you replace it with the correct size and don't be tempted to go bigger unless your confident that your wiring is good and can handle a bigger breaker. If the breaker continues to trip you may have a fan that is bad and drawing too many amps

Cooler keeps on triggers breaker

If it is tripping the breaker, stop plugging it in. The breaker is tripping because something is wrong, and continually resetting the circuit WILL cause a fire. Either return the unit, or have an electrician look at it. You can also try plugging it into another circuit in your house to isolate the problem, but please don't repeatedly reset the breaker, there IS a problem somewhere.

Hoover HDC7FM condensor dryer starts then cuts out

Open the dryer door (right after the breaker trips) and check for a burned smell. If it smells in the dryer, you probably have a direct short in the dryer wiring. Check for a burn smell at the wall socket. There may be a short in the socket itself, but not likely unless a mouse is lying across the contacts in the wall.
If everything checks ok replace the circuit breaker if this is an older home. Circuit breakers weaken after years of use. A 30 amp circuit breaker will trip at a much lower amperage after a period of years especially if it has tripped often.

THE INSTA HOT HEATER KEEPS TRIPPING THE BREAKER?

Hire an electrician.  The breaker needs to be replaced or the wiring in your house is not able to handle it.  I believe most need 2-30amp breakers.
