    Hi,

    Hi,

I have just purchased the camcorder and the only CD that is provided is HD Writer AE2.0,
which is a editing programme that is very poor, that is why I want to use Ulead Videostudio Prox3, a programme that I have used for the last 4/5years with my previous camcorder.(not a HD)

    Hope this of assistance.

    Regards,

    Alan.

    Hi,

The computer does detect the camcorder (as drive f) .

In the capture section of Videostudio Pro X 3 although it
will not detect the camcorder , I can import the data from:

    "Import from mobile device"

When playback on the camcorder the film is smooth, however
on the playback on the computer the film
    is jumping about.

Trust the above is of assistance.

    Regards,

    Alan

    Hi,

I have only got the videostudio Pro X3 set up on one computer.

The file format from the camcorder is:

    Pal HDMV
    H264 upper field first
    Compression MPEG AVC/264
    Attribute 24 bits 1920 x1080 -16:9
    Frames 25 per sec

    Trust the above will assist.

    regards,

    Alan.

    Hi,

    Have downloaded VLC.

The only way I can import the data from the camcorder is through Video studio Pro X 3.

I have played this section through VLC and it is still choppy.

    Regards,

    Alan

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

FOR SONY HANDYCAMS: TRANSFERING VIDEO TO YOUR COMPUTER VIA USB

FOR USB USE:
Download Driver
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-matrix.pl?upd_id=1452

Install then download and install a video program like movavi videosuite or ulead videostudio (i personally recommend movavi).

Plug in the camcorder and switch it on, put it on play/edit and play the video, press record or capture in the software and let it record!

once the video scene in the camera is done, stop the recording and do what you wish!

GOOD LUCK!

How do you relink a file to corel videostudio?

Using a USB key is the worst thing you can do when you are video editing.
When you are editing video it is best to have the video clips on your main hard drive for the best Play back and rendering performance.
Video editing software doesn't actually change the original files, it just remembers what parts of the videos you want to use and then saves that memory in a project file, it does not save the video files. when you render the video it will make a new video file.
If you make any changes to the project files (Pictures and videos) in the project (e.g. name change, location, re-save) the video editing software will no longer be able to link the files back to the project and will then prompt you to re-link the files.
Also the performance of video editing software relies a lot on the data transfer speed. when you are using a USB drive you are cutting the performance down BIG time.
When you are using VideoStudio save all the files you are editing to the hard drive in one folder. when you are done and you want to transfer the project off, select File | Smart Package. What this will do is gather all of the project files and allow you to save to a USB drive and you can transfer the project to any other computer and open the project using VideoStudio without the relinking issue.

hi there
your camcorder records in AVCHD format which is a bit specialised at the moment, so your going to need special software to edit it.
you can get sony vegas movie studio 8 from amazon for about £30 ish and that will do the job nicely.

be warned .............. you will need a large hard drive (100 gig ish) as it takes a large amount of room to work, also a 3 gig cpu and a mid to high end video card.

hope this helps

How to transfer the video in Mini DV to my computer

I suggest getting the PCI IEEE 1394 also known as FireWire card. Most of the time these Firewire card comes with a Video editing software but verify because you will need some form of video editing s/w to record the video. After recording then you can edit it however you like and transfer to DVD/etc. Always a pain in the as to edit video. I've done it a couple of times. So have fun. I still have not manage to find a Video editing s/w that will do a 5.1 audio or multiple audio tracks (similar to switching between languages)
