Question about Craftsman Garden

1 Answer

Hello. I have a 7 years old LT1000 Lawn Tractor and just now I went to use it and got it started fine but when I engage the mower nothing happens. I looked and cleaned underneath and tried a couple of times but still nothing. Would you have any ideas on what that could be?

Transmission will not move the tractor

I went to look up your fill plug placement but you need the long number to go with it...too many years with model lgt2654...
but this may sound silly but did you happen to pull the rod to disengage the trans so you may move it by around by pushing and not put back into engaged position?..some are on rear of tractor and some are between your legs. I can't see trans just going out being low. they usually lose reverse when they start getting low. wish you luck that its something simple...

Lawn Tractor won't start Craftsman LT1000 17.5 OHV

The starter bendix is not engaging properly the bendix pushes the starter gear into the flywheel gear when the starter spools up, it may need minor lubrication.
It sounds like the engine is not getting fuel as it should, the main jet may be restricted from varnish if she stumbles under a load especially if the plug tips are white after running for 1/2 an hour.
Remove the float bowl and clean the jet, make sure the fuel is still good, gas that smells like a library is more like varnish and less like fuel.
