Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.
I just want to ask does the power head turn by hand easily? If so the most probable suspect would be the motor capacitor has failed so the unit does not come up to speed and the thermal overload trips.
Another reason it could be tripping is that there can be corrosion in the motor bearing causing extreme friction / spalling of the motor bearing and the thermal overload is tripping.
Last reason... look underneath the power head to see if by chance there is string or something wapped tightly in between the motor and the power head.

Flowtron seems to be the only source for parts and service and you can contact them here.

I looked for the motor capacitor on page 11 of the manual here:

and they only list the motor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

The motor burned out after one year of use. It was bought in Oct 2009. This year in Oct. it burned up in about 10 min. How can I get a replacement motor? I took it apart, cleaned it, reassembled it...

I would recommend contacting the manufacturer. The warranty was 1 year. If you are at 13 -14 months, I would ask Flowtron for some help in getting it replaced. Sometimes manufacturers are willing to split the cost of a repair that is near the warrany end to help keep a customer satisfied. It is worth trying.
Good luck.

Flowtron LE-900D Leaf Shredder- Spinner flies off.

The screw is a common one, Make sure it is at least a grade 5 or grade 8. The o-ring may be another matter, but should be available at hardware and most definitely a hydraulic hose shop would have it.

I have a LeafEater Leaf Blower/Vac 165 mph. I lost the manual and I need to know the ratio of gasoline to 2-cycle oil. Thanks.

Are you sure the brand is LeafEater?

I would suggest using a good brand of synthetic 2 cycle oil at a ratio of 40:1 and you would be fine.

If you happen to have one of the green units by WeedEater, check their website for a manual. You will need to know the model, tho.

I found a reset switch on the leaf-chipper. I was then careful to fill it more slowly, and to keep out sticks and clumps of wet leaves.

Shot in the dark here. If the mulcher is tripping and needs to turned off then back on, it's defective and should be replaced. If the circuit breaker in your house panel is tripping, try to use different circuit on a 20 amp circuit breaker. If your using a plug that is controlled by a GFCI receptacle or breaker, move to a different plug. GFCI receptacles tend trip when motor loads are applied. These are my best guesses since I'm not sure what exactly you are reseting.

How do you intall the cutting string on a Flowtron leaf eater?

I have an electric weedwacker which may be different. In the leaf wacker there are four small holes very near the center screw on the revolving shaft. These holes form two small tunnels. cut two pieces of line (10-12 inches) and stick one through each tunnel. Center each line, put the two ends together and poke them out through the small hole on the edge of the rotating shaft. You end up with two sets of plastic line facing out from the central shaft. Flowtron may be different. Good luck.
