Question about Dell Studio 1737 Laptop

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Studio 1737. All of a sudden the touchpad is not working efficiently. Sometimes it does not work at all, other times it takes a few attempts to get the pointer to move. Many thanks for any assistance that you can give.

Connect a USB mouse to the laptop. If it works without problem then your touchpad (palmrest) has a problem and needs to be replaced.

Dell Studio 1737 with Back lit keyboard but Cap Lock Doesn't Light, replaced Keyboard less than 3 months ago, light worked then and went out just recently.

I'd try a different keyboard and see if the caps light works on that - so you can confirm whether it's the keyboard, or computer.

Dear Janice,
The light under the Caps key must have burned out. Take your laptop to a Dell service center and get it repaired.

Keyboard totally frozen/non-responsive on dell studio 1737 laptop

I'm very compulsive with my electronics, especially if they are new. I, myself, would have it sent in and I would complain why I spent X ammount of money on a doorstop, you know. If you don't have a warranty you can take to BestBuy for free inspection and what you might be able to physically do to fix it.

If I helped please rate me, if I didn't please comment and I'll do my best to help more.

Thanks,

Dell studio 1737 speakers crackle and pop.

My best guess is, if they crackle with the speakers but not the headfones,  then replace the speakers. Must be a lose wire or something of that nature.
