I have a dvd Rom sata connected and an ide connected but the ide won't read. i brought a new ide (same brand LG) i plug it in and the pc won't load up. it says insert disk. i plug the old one in...

You need to check that you don't have the same identifier for 2 IDE drives. you can only have one "Master" and one "Slave" on each IDE channel. If you have 2 of one the computer won't know what it is supposed to be doing with the drive.

How to hook to computer

I am assuming it's an internal drive for a PC and not a Laptop.
Here is a nice illustrated guide to install an older IDE version:

For Sata you don't need to configure any jumpers just connect the Sata cable to the spare port on the motherboard and the other end to the drive also don't forget to connect the power cable too.
you cannot connect IDE cable to Sata and vice versa.
Hope this helps.

My Tiny 755C10 laptop has 44 pins slot and standard ide hdd has 47 pins. what can I do to fix it?

Standard IDE (PATA) HDD connection is 44 pins for a laptop.

(40-pins for a desktop IDE harddrive. Only 39 are used, though. One pin is removed)

What manufacturer, and model of HDD, do you have that has 47 pins?
(48 with one pin removed?)

SO, the question is,....what is that 47-pin Harddrive?

How to download c++

What you want is called an integrated development environment or IDE. An IDE will give you the C++ language compiler and a graphic interface for writing your code, compiling and running your programs, and figuring out problems when things don't work (bug-hunting). Some commercial products are out there, but there are several IDEs available for free.

I use DevC++ 4. They have a new version 5 available in beta if you want to try it. The don't list Vista and Windows 7 as supported so it may not work on those systems. (I still have XP.) A couple more IDEs you can check out are CodeLite and NetBeans. Both of those say they'll work with Windows 7.

Set yourself up with one of these and you'll be coding in no time. Time for coffee! Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

Hi, sparkplug should be .8mm or 30 thou. Low one and a quarter, high one. Then adjust idle screw to suit. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

My intel dh55pj mother board dont have a ide port, how can i connect my old ide hardrive in it?

if you insist on using the old hard drive you can buy pci IDE card which give you two IDE ports , but in my opinion i see the better to sell your old hard disk and buy another new on it will be better than the old and faster

if you see that is helpful please don't forget to vote me

Ide slot not working

sounds like you have a bad controller. You should have a primary ide controller that is noramaly used by the hard drive, then a secondary used by the optical drive. Try putting the DVD drive on the some ide cable as the hard drive.

SCSI and IDE HDs, can they work together?

This next solution is viable in win 98, and I don?t see any reason why it shouldn?t work for you too. If you know of anything I?m missing you should consult someone else. The solution is slightly complex, so I hope I can explain it properly: 1. Create a startup disk so you can format and install windows. 2. Set the new HD as master and connect it to Primary IDE. 3. Disconnect the SCSI and remove it. 4. Restart the computer with the disk you created (with the new HD connected). 5. Go to the Bios settings in order to make sure that the computer does recognize the new HD as the primary drive in the first IDE. 6. Now, FDisk the new HD, set the partitions, restart and format it. Install the OS and make sure it is working properly. 7. Insert the SCSI and restart again. 8. At this stage the computer would reboot into the IDE and see the SCSI/ You may have to change something in the OS settings for that, but I don?t know where. Good luck.
