Not as much suds as regular detergent and double the strenth, front load washers use less water than top loaders,if you use to much detergent the machine will keep filling and draining to try to get the suds out.also you should only be using 1/4 cup of H.E. detergent or you can damage the spider gear in the washer, you'll know if it breaks you'll hear the tub banging all around loudly when it's in final spin, the spider gear is made out of soft metal and the extra detergent eats at the metal

I have been given a Whirlpool AWM 312 by friends moving overseas and don't know how to operate it and would like to get a manual. My main problem is what drawer (front the left facing the machine) do I...

The manuals for most Whirlpool appliances are available here: http://www.whirlpool.com/custserv/index.jsp . Look for the full model number under the lid on the rim of the washer. AWM 312 is not a complete model number. Next is the washer a top loading or front loading machine? This is actually indicated in the model number - most Whirlpool models start WFW (front-load) or WTW (top-load). The exception is the compact washers (LCE4332PQ is the current model).

For the front-loading washers, the detergent goes into the largest compartment (usually the left-most part of the drawer). Top-loading washers that have a detergent compartment usually have it positioned at the top center back of the tub. Use HE detergent for high efficiency washers and do not use more detergent than recommended (using less is okay).

I hope this helps.

What detergent do u use for this type of washer

you have to use HE High Efficiency detergent which is a low sudsing detergent, ERA , Tide makes one, do not use regular detergent which will cause too much sudsing and will void your warrenty, you will be suprised on how little detergent is used with a front loading washing machine compared with a top loading machine

What is the partion insert for the washing powder container for?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

That is the Liquid detergent partition...P/N 8061633. ( part number )

**This from ASKO...

Because ASKO washers use less water than conventional top-loading washers, you need less detergent and fabric softener. We recommend that you use a low-sudsing powder detergent only, preferably a high-efficiency (HE) detergent designed specifically for front-loading washers.

**(Liquid detergents tend to suds more, which make them more difficult to rinse out.)**

Detergent - The amount of detergent needed varies, depending on the detergent you use. For high-efficiency detergent specifically for front-loading washers, you should use the amounts recommended by the manufacturer.

Also, the amount of detergent needed can vary due to differences in water hardness. (Refer to the Use and Care Guide for more details.) If you choose to use a liquid detergent, start out with a very small amount, such as one or two tablespoons.

Hope that answers your question, let me know please. Thanks for choosing FixYa for your repair solutions today. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Please take a moment and rate the solution provided for you as well as a testimony if you feel it warranted.

Good luck.

Macmarkus :)

"Green" He Detergents Available?

Because all modern detergents work quite well with any application, that challenge would be totally up to you to make that selection.

Solution, detergents that produce low suds are better suited for front-loading washers.

Good luck.
