Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. If you have a washer that has a weak agitation or no agitation at all, here are some possible solutions. You need to check your belts. Most washers have one or two belts. Check your lid switch. If a lid switch is bad, it can cause the washer to not work properly. Sometimes, they will not work at all. Make sure you check your drive motor. The drive motor controls the spinning, draining, and agitation. Most washers have the reverse motor, meaning the shaft rotates in both directions, clockwise and counterclockwise. It is possible to lose one direction and not the other. Some washers have a clutch that controls the agitation. If it is bad or worn, it may prevent the agitator to work. Most of these washers come from General Electric. You could have a bad motor coupler. They are located on the side of the motor drive inside the washer. It is also possible that you have a bad transmission. Check the agitator itself. You could have a bad spline or two. The splin accompanies the shaft and allows the movement of the agitator. If you rule out all the parts above, you may have an electrical issue or an issue with the control board. It is very important to test each part and make sure it is getting power. If a part is not working and not getting any power, the power loss may be the reason that it doesn't work. You can test the current in the wires with a voltage meter.

My washer does nothing when you put it in the rinse cycle however it does fill with water. I believe the problem is the timer switch. can you confirm this issue

Not so? If it does not go into agitation? You may have a bad water pressure switch which sends signal to start agitation. but also can have bad cam dogs in agitator which do not engage agitator? a bad door switch will not allow agitation or spin on some appliances. And lastly yes u may have a bad timer wheres points have fused? can check most of these with a multi meter

One piece agitator wraps cloths

When loading the machine, load towels, sheets or jeans with an accordion fold instead of putting the laundry in a circle around the agitator. It helps to put the clothes in at the twelve o'clock position, then six o'clock, then nine o'clock and then three o'clock. Repeat this sequence until the washer is full.
The laundry can circulate much better and get cleaner too.

Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

Whirlpool washer stoped after the agitate cycle

If it fills with water, agitates then stops still full of water (even if you manually advance the timer), you have a bad lid switch. This is an inexpensive repair, or even a do it yourself project.

GE Top load washer.

Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,

Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.

Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking even with the tub full of water.

Let me know if you found it and how you do.

Wont spin or agitate

Not sure what you mean? if you have normal wash action then it is agitating in the wash cycle.  Otherwise if it doesn't agitate or spin but does fill with water then your motor or motor control board is bad.
