Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

My iphone very suddenly won't charge, though

I do not have access to another iphone battery. My question was about the suddenness of this problem when only the day before it was functioning fine as an ipod, notebook, and calendar. I would think the deterioration would have been gradual, unless the limited use without the phone function did not require enough battery capacity for its deterioration to be noticeable. The green battery indicator always showed full up until this

Hello,

Is seem more or less like a battery fault. I think the battery cell is weak such that it cannot hold charge. Once a battery cell is weak, it would be able to hold charge. The battery seems not to be functioning, that is why the screen goes blank the moment you disconnect the plug.

At this point, I thin you need a battery replacement. But for you purchase another battery, borrow a battery from a family or friend that uses the same phone with you. Test the battery, observe if that will make any difference. This will give you the confidence of buying another battery. Make sure you don't buy another battery if you don't test the i-phone with another battery. You can like wise test your battery with another i-phone to be more sure is the battery is defective or not.

In addition, read this tip as you might find it helpful now or in the nearest future. The tip was posted by me; http://www.fixya.com/support/r8742993-phone_charge

I hope you find the above helpful.....

Good luck.

    Hello,

I think I understand you better now...........

    I that case you have to reset the i-phone. Follow the procedures below;

Step 1: Power Down the Device

    * Resetting your device is basically forcing the machine to reboot itself. The first step is to shut it down completely:
    1. Locate the Sleep/Wake button on the top side of your device, to the very right.
    2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears on the touchscreen.
    3. Move the slider all the way across.
    Step 2: Reset the Device

    * Now that your device has been shut down, you need to instruct it to reset itself.
    1. Locate the Home button, on the front of the device, at the bottom-center.
    2. Simultaneously press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and the Home buttons.
    3. Do not let go of them both until the Apple logo appears on your device's touchscreen.
    * Your device will now boot up normally. None of your personal data or customized settings have been altered in any way.

However, if the device is still malfunctioning you must reset the settings:
    1. Navigate to the Home Screen.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select General.
    4. Select Reset.
    5. Select Reset All Settings.
    * Although the device has been restored to its original factory settings, all of your data will remain intact and unaltered.

Try the above and let's see if that would solve the problem..... Hopefully, it should.

    Good luck.

Sounds as though the battery is no good,

I have had my i phone for three days but will not charge beyond 50..percent...help

If the re-chargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Not really, the older NiCad batteries get a memory effect if you keep charging from a half charged state, but modern Lithium batteries do not suffer from this problem.

My dewalt 18v xrp battery wont take a charge

Depending on how old or more to the point how many times you have already charged the battery, it may be worn out. All rechargeable batteries do reach a point where they won't charge up anymore. If you have fully discharged the battery and tried to fully charge it up again and it won't take a charge or only lasts a few minutes on a charge it may be time to recycle it and buy a new one.

If your iPhone's battery runs very far down, the iPhone won't turn on. That's because it's using its remaining battery life to preserve your data and settings. So, your iPhone could be refusing to turn on because its battery doesn't have enough juice. In that case, plug your iPhone into a wall charger or into your computer (plug it directly into the computer; some USB ports on keyboards don't have enough power to charge iPhones). Let it sit for 10-20 minutes. If it was low on battery and needed a charge, when it's got enough juice to power the screen, it will turn on and show you its charging status, starting with the red battery icon.During this process, you may also want to make sure there's no lint packed into your cable or the iPhone's dock connector. This isn't a hugely common problem, but a lot of pocket lint could interfere with the iPhone getting a charge.
