Atleast wait so that I can reply before rejecting the solution....if its a week old then clean the control and also take warranty to get this checked as opening the unit will void off warranty.

Please check this picture, part#9 is the radiant sensor and part#31 is the sensor, if they are fine then the thermostat (part#34) needs replacement.

does it reduce the time even when you have a full load of wet clothes in the dryer? If it does then maybe the sensor is bad

Maytag dryer stops after few minutes

ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat, or shuts down to fast:

Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle.

I had a bunch of verywet towels because my sink was leaking, and I put them in the dryer and it worked for a few minutes them stopped. What might be wrong?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you had a bunch of wet towels, and put them in your Frigidaire dryer, model# FGQ332ES. I see that your dryer worked for a few minutes and then stopped. There could be a possibility that the wet towels were too heavy from all the water in them. I suggest that you spin the towels out in your washer first and then move them over to your dryer. If you are still noticing the dryer working for a couple of minutes and then stopping, I suggest giving your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging your appliance or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. When power is restored start it on any cycle. If your dryer is still shutting off after a few minutes, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing it to shut off after a few minutes. Hope this is helpful.

-Best regards-

I sent you a clarification request a few minutes ago. I read your question a few more times. If your meter is set to ohms (continuity) with the buzzer or sound, then you should get continuity on the operating thermostat. Do this; go back to the operating thermostat and tap it a few times with the handle of a screwdriver or something and retest. See if you have continuity then. If you do have after doing that, then try the dryer again.
Even so, if this does work at least you know the problem and I would replace it anyway. It sounds as if your element and other thermostats are fine as you suggested. Let me know if you can.

How do you get the mildew smell out of a clothes dryer?

Very unusual problem with a dryer as it gets hot and would normally evaporate moisture causing mildew!

Try the following:
  • Unplug the power point of the dryer.
  • Gently clean the interior (and exterior) with a super absorbent cloth/non-scracth sponge lighty soaked in a mild bleach soapy mixture to kill off and remove the (blackish) mildew (Nappy wash is not a bad mixture). Weat rubber gloves for protection.
  • Let the unit wet for a few minutes and then using clean warm water and sponge, remove all trace of the bleachy soap on the unit as it is corrosive. Additional drying off with disposable paper towel will help remove any trace of bleach.
  • Put a wet clean bathroom towel lightly soaking with material conditioner mixture at double the normal recommended ratio, power the dryer and dry off the towel as per normal: the fabric conditioner is also a freshner.
  • Musty milldew odour should be gone!
Hope it helps! Please let me know how you go!

This sounds like a bad timer assembly is bad, you can either call a tec, or if you think you can do it, i have posted the schematic below
for your model, part #3 is the timer, you can look at this drawing and see if its close to yours. This the Kenmore parts site. If you shop around, sometimes you can get it cheaper from someone else.

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL DUET GAS DRYER MODEL NO. GGW9250PL0 THAT KEEPS BEEPING EVERY FEW SECONDS AND THE DIGITAL MINUTE DISPLAY IS ERRATICALLY CHANGING THE NUMBER OF MINUTES WHEN TRYING TO SELECT DRYER SETTING....

We had the same problem. Sometimes unplugging it for a few days, it would work when plugged back in. We replaced the user interface which is part #19 on the Whirlpool parts list, the front circuit board. The part alone was $160 at the cheapest place we found. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/
