With out more information here is a basic fix --
First drain the oil -and re fill with the proper type and amount for your engine -refer to your owners manual--
Second -remove and clean carburettor fuel bowl --remove float valve needle and flush with petrol or blow with low pressure air. this problem is usually caused by dirt or small pieces of rubber from a perished fuel line getting stuck under the float needle - replace fuel lines with new ones and install a fuel filter close to the carburettor an in line fuel tap can also be installed and turned off when not using the machine.

I hope this Helps Andrew.A

My Toyota Nadia stopped whilst running, I started it and smoke came out of the exhaust pipe. I left and the next morning mechanics told me it had mixed oil and drained about 10L of oil/petrol mixture.

Hello Louis,

As you have no doubt learned by now, the only way fuel can get into the oil is via the injectors (carb?) and for that to happen a stuck injector had to be pouring gas into the intake, where it bypassed the rings and joined oil in the sump.

That's a lot of gas! Car must have been running horribly. If the gas was in the sump long enough to thoroughly dilute the oil, you may also have bearing damage from inadequate lubrication.

First, fix the source of the gas, then carefully check for oil pressure.

No easy fix, in that case??.

all the best.

My lt 133 john deere mower has gas in oil and back fires. runs 5 min and stops.

It's going to need a carb kit to fix the problem. Make sure your gas cap is venting ok, because gas expands in the summer and can force gas to pass thru carburetor and flood the cylinder then passing down into the oil. Depending on the age of your mower, the carburetor may have a gas shutoff solenoid on the bottom and this may have malfunctioned. Another is a bad float or needle valve which a carburetor kit would fix. A needle kit with bowl gasket may be all it will need. Hope this will help.

Troy Built 2500 pressure washer, gass filled cylinder, oil is comtaminated, can it be fixed

Anything can be fixed but you may need more specific help.Gas filled cylinder and contaminated oil may be linked to the carb flooding the bore and gradually getting into the oil. Fixing one fault may fix all. See why the gas fills the cylinder, then fix that. Change the oil and go from there, don't change anything unless you are sure. Keep in mind the economics of the repair costs. Checking everything is functioning as it should usually reveals the problem.

Gas in oil... I know this is bad. How bad?

Depends how much gas. Either way dump the engine oil and add fresh, but be sure to fix the original problem first. Gas thins the oil and causes excessive wear.

I put gas in the oil and oil in the gas can it be fixed

As far as gas in the oil I presume you are talking about bar oil. I wouldn't worry to much about that. Empty out all you can and refill with bar oil. With oil in the gas I would drain all I could out of fuel tank, then remove sparkplug and pull srarter rope several times. With plug still out i would pour 1-2 ounces of of gas into plug opening and let it set for a few mins.,then dump out remainging fuel. Once again I would pull starter rope several times. Reinstall plug and refill gas tank with proper fuel oil mix. Try to start. If you're lucky you can get it to fire and burn off excess oil in afew pulls. If you can get it started I would run for just a couple of mins, then shut off and drain gas again. Hope this helps. Thanks.

My 01 bonneville oil pressure gauge is showing 120 and my gas gauge is all over the place

HI, the oil pressure sending unit may be malfunctioning at this point. this will cause erratic readings. if your oil level is proper and there are no apparent oil leaks, you will need to replace the oil pressure sending unit. this will fix the erratic oil pressure readings.

Concerning the gas gauge. this device also has a sending unit that sends the correct fuel level reading to the gas gauge via wire transfer. this sending unit is located and attached to the fuel pump assembly inside the gas tank. replacing this device will fix this issue as well.

Please rate and god bless:)

Low Oil light at idle

and whether it may have affected the longevity of the motor? All bikes in Australia had a recall for the clutch covers. If the crank seal in the clutch cover is faulty it loses oil pressure. Some times it could be just a faulty switch. You will se that Gas Gas fixed this on the 08 bikes by removing the switch.,
