I don't understand your question, do you mean that it re-boots repetitively after you power it on???

If so than you should perform a Windows REPAIR from the Windows CD, or a recovery...

I will gladly explain the procedure, just post back if I'm wright or wrong...

I have the same problem with this board. You turn on the wall switch and on it comes before you ever press the power button. When I turn it off (Linux or windows) it restarts...you have to hit the wall switch to kill it. Usually I time it for when the bios shows itself at restart so as to stop corrupting the OS. Crazy :-(

if you have the same problem with two different OS's (Operating Systems) Linux or Windows, than it is definitively a hardware problem, first take out every thing that is removable, (ram, PCI cards, AGP cards all floppy, IDE and SATA cables, power cables as well, etc...) leaving just the MOTHER BOARD, CPU, and the mother board's POWER CABLE, your computer will not POST (Power On Self Test) correctly but if it BEEP's and do NOT RE-START after a while, than power it down than re-install all the hardware one at a time starting with the RAM (process of elimination) than power down again and re-install an other card, and so on... untill you install something and it re-boots by it self, take out whatever you last put in when the problem pop's up and test it again (just to make sure) it could also be a bad power supply...

    Cheers!

I did 2 things. One of which fixed i. In the bios I selected what to do if the power is cut off. it was "resume last state". I changed it to stay off.

Secondly one of the 4 Ram slots and the Ram chip itself wer having problems. Now I have it running on 3 Ram slots and avoiding the one hat was causing issues.

lastly I did a fresh install of Ubuntu overwriting the hard drive. Previously I was doing only the CD boot option.

Now when I shut down it stays off.

When I switch on the wall power the units fans give a vry brief (1 second?) spin then remain off until I turn the system on with the front power button.

Looks like mine is fixed.

Here's the info on the transfer switch. The

What do you mean by "there's no power to the disconnect switch"?
Is it the feeder from the mains or from emergency generator?

If it is the input from mains and you don't have voltage on it, this should make the generator to start, if automatic start is selected and thus give voltage to the other feeder (emergency), the switch goes on and the consumers have power.

If you have power on your mains feeder, you don't need voltage on your "emergency" feeder. Then the consumers should be supplied by your mains contactor.

My dell optiplex won't switch on.

Here'w what I would do: Unplug everything (hard drive, CD, DVD), and even consider taking out the modem if you have one. Now try to start it. If it starts (but, of course gives you a "missing boot device" error, start it up with only the hard drive. If there is a speaker in the system, you might consider removing the memory to see if it gives you an error beep code. If these things don't work, then you're looking at a new motherboard.

PC start directly

Explain what you mean when you say 'when i open the pc from main switch'.
Also, something you should try is updating the CMOS, or in other words flashing the BIOS firmware. Go to your motherboards manufacturers website and see if there are any BIOS updates for it.

Not getting power to my syliniod on my 1985 Ford Bronco

If you have play or wear in the mechanism that the key switch move's,it willnot give enough throw to move the power switch at the lower half of the column.Look under the dash where your brake pedal is and on the steering column you will see a 4x3 tan box that has 1 plug with quit a few wires in it.There is also a metal rod that comes down from the upper part of the column and go's to it.That's the main power switch. The metal rod move's when you turn the key and there will be play inside of the column between the key switch and the rod if it's worn.Pull the switch off,you can run it manually by moving the switch where the rod goes in.There is adjustment in the switch by loosening the 2 screw's and pushing up toward's the top.You can turn the vehicle on,start it and shut it off by this switch. If it start's from the switch manually your column is worn and need's to be repaired or you can run a temporary wire from the batt to a push button and then to the solinoid.Hope this was helpfull.
