This password is the same as your wireless router access password. You need to follow the HP setup exactly, which means hooking the printer up USB during configuration. AS WELL, you will need to run the full install on EACH machine, then each one can run stuff, like a scanner, as if they hosted the printer...

Get into the router and find your wireless access code and you should be able to get things working. HP is fussy about NOT using plug and play.

I have a Arris TM722 modem and I need to know my SSID number and password? please help me!

An SSID is the name of your wireless network connection and doesn't have to be a number. As I don't believe that this modem supports wireless connectivity, it should not prompt you for an SSID or a password. If the modem is plugged into a wireless router however, and a wireless network has been set up, the SSID will be related to the wireless router.

Generally most devices can scan for the SSID when attempting to connect to a wireless connection. If there is an "automatic" setting or a "find networks" button, you can try that and choose your wireless connection from the list provided. For a password, you may need to ask whomever helped set up your wireless network.

I dont know how to setup a wireless printer to my laptop. I have a wireless router and an ethernet cable plugged in, but how do I set it on my computer wirelessly?

Well what you do is, First, install the correct driver for your Printer on the one chosen to be the, "Master" PC, then, connect the Printer to that PC via the USB cable. Then after it is installed & shows up,Go to the setup & in the printers Properties, ensure you set the printer for "Sharing" & Take note of where it "Is" & it's "Name" & "Path". Also ALL your PC's MUST have an INDIVIDUAL NAME and be connected to the SAME "Workgroup". Then from each "Client" you must Install a Printer too. Now on Client, go to, Install a Printer, & run it, when it asks what sort? You identify "Networked Printer" and "Browse" for it. When you find it, simply connect to it and follow any instructions. If you can't find it, enter the name of master pc & printers name... (from the Master install). When you connect follow any instructions Now you are ready to print..
When you look for the printer it will look like this....\\Nameofyourpc\PrinterNamehere
So basically, you have setup a network, with the PC's & a Printer... You have one Master that the Printer is connected to, & all "Others" connect, to the Printer, Through, the Master PC, subsequently it must be ON for it all to function.
There is another way, and that requires a printer with an Ethernet connector, this then, can be simply plugged into a router port & it will show up as a network share, that can be used by anyone else on the network., As such there is no master and no need to have any other PC's powered up for it all to work.

We have a hp c4580 wireless printer and we are having problems with getting it to work. Can you please advice what to do. Bethany

Basically, you need to configure the HP C4580 printer with the same wireless settings of your network. Thus, you need to get the following information from your wireless router:

SSID or wireless network name
Type of Wireless Security
Wireless Security key/passphrase/password

To set those settings on the printer itself, you need to temporarily connect first your printer to the computer through USB. Then run the HP Printer Setup CD. It'll ask for you to install the required software then it'll ask for you to configure the printer on a wireless network. From then on, you will need to input the wireless settings that you got from your router.

This printer does not have wireless built in. Are you trying to access it across a network? If so just add the printer and type in its location on the network. Also what operating system are you using. I will need a lot more information to give you a complete answer.
