Under the seat, behind the storage compartment, there's a gray piece of plastic that covers the battery. You've got to take a couple of screws out to get to it, but it's under there. It's right in front of your top box and rear rack. ------- You have to remove the panel that surrounds the latch for the seat and the panel that contains your brake light to gain access the battery and the main fuse block. ---------- I'm pointing right at it, and the two screws on either side of the latch are removed to take the cover off. It kind of hooks on the back side, so you've got to slide it rearward to remove it. Click this link to view the picture:--- http://postimage.org/image/2ewy35nwk/ --------------- Once that screws are removed, lift the latch and you will see the battery.:--- That black is battery and beside, there is a vent tube.Remove the battery without disturbing then vent tube. Have a BV250 Piaggio. Battery - helpmech_109.jpg

-------- There is also a service manual for your vehicle.Click this link to get service manual:--- http://www.scribd.com/doc/32353759/Piaggio-BV250-Workshop-Manual-USA ------------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

one of them scooter thingys ,i do think i would i would need a good look here to be honest ,have had some sucess with a helper who works the manual release and i attack the seat with a big screwdriver ,but this is brutish to say the least and it does work sometimes if the catch is just short of a good lube up with the oil can but sometimes they get bent where the locking bar is and the only alternative is to a good wrench and break it all off ,best advice here is go to the main agant and get them to have a look ,it may be cheaper than breakinmg anything

Piaggio zip 125 electrical

Hi, Bilywalker before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter have failed or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

There is a compartment under the saddle see picture 03 18 below. You need to use the key fob to open the saddle. The manual says open the fixings A and remove the cover B. what type of fixings are not stated.

Battery location

The battery for the Marauder is located under the seat. Check behind the passenger peg on the right side (the side the exhaust pipes are on) , there should be a lock. Use the bikes key to unlock the seat. You should be able to lift the seat from the back and pull it backwards as you lift it. You should see your battery. Hope this helps.
