I tried re-registering in the Sage Portal which is the link I am taken to, but am unable to since I don't have a Sage Customer Account ID (theirs is a 10 digit number that starts with a 4 and none of mine do), can you help? I no longer have the email notification with the key code from the first time I registered in 2005. I've installed Simply accounting loads of times and it is the same issue every time, if you did not subscribe to an annual fee you simply can not re-install simply accounting after the contract has expired.... that is why I suggest ACOMBA they are more expensive per module but you pay once and can install a 1000 times they don't care... if you don't pay the annual fee you just don't get support or updates... (which is fine if you don't use the pay roll module)

I personally find this more fair... (you payed to use the software... OK, but if you don't pay every year your on your own for support and no updates...) and that's OK for some small companies that is only what they need, accounting not pay roll, etc..., but companies like Simply Accounting they want you to buy a contract not the software... they sell the software cheaper but they want money every year...

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I hve compaq prsario v-5000 laptop. its masg shows your hard disk drive a failure may be imminent. whit i do. Plz sugg. me

shut it down immediately
let it cool down
try a disc scan to clean filesystem if this is unduely noisy your hard drive might be malfunctioning or about to break very nice of your system to warn you,
Take it out and carefully inspect it it works on the basic principal of one of those old record -players
you could then oil.with a very fine specialist lubricant the bearing very carefully after cleaning it and gently press any sort of sprung arm etc then replace it and see if it works for a while longer or if you get this error message again in which case it might not even fail any way for a further few months if at all--i hope this is not to confusing for you --you also could replace it altogether with a new unit which most certainly will last a few years

the motor went bad in the drive if its not even trying to spin the disc. The only option at this point is to get the drive replaced.

Cannot install 6940 driver

this is straight from hp
64 MB RAM for basic software installation (256 MB RAM for full software installation), 200 MB available hard disk space for basic software installation (450 MB for full software installation)
unless you get another 256mb memory it would be best for you to do basic installation.

Error message

Hi beulah_jane,

What version of Simply Accounting are you using? 2007? 2008? 2009? Using Windows XP or Vista? Are the Simply files stored locally on the C drive or on a network? Can you open a sample company or are you getting the same error?

If you're trying to open the file using a shortcut to the data file itself, try using the Simply Accounting Program shortcut and then opening your file. If you're getting an encountered an error message, try searching through our knowledgebase.

In either case, I or another user can help you in our Simply Accounting Community at www.simplyaccounting.com/community

This includes a free Knowledgebase, Discussion Forum and blogs that you'll have access to. You may even find your answer already posted by another user in the forum. We have several knowledgeable users and our business partners going through the forum as well that can help you as well.

I hope this helps.

How to instal Simply Accounting 2002 on OS Vista

Hi iberlinson,

Simply Accounting 2002 may not be fully compatible with Vista. The 2008 and 2009 programs are compatible with Vista. You may want to try installing outside of C:Program Files if possible and make sure you save your Simply Company files outside of this location.

If you have any further questions, feel free to visit the Simply Accounting Online Community at: www.simplyaccounting.com/community

I hope this helps!

Accpac online manual

I have ACCPAC 4.2 (windows) manuals and ACCPAC DOS 6.0 manuals.
Just pay $5.00 each, total -- the postage ($3.99 medial mail) is included.
I don't want them to go to lanfill.

User name & password are incorect

I had the same problem but it was with Simply 2007 running on a Windows XP computer. One day it just said "username and password are incorrect" even though I had just used it the day before with the exact same username and password (I am the administrator). I Googled all kinds of solutions to try, and finally this one worked. I simply did a Windows "System Restore" to the previous day. Once I did that, Simply Accounting allowed me to log in again. Therefore it tells me that the problem is one of two things...either the Windows database engine...or with some sort of Windows Update or other program update that interfered with the login process. The likelyhood is that it's a Windows system file involved in the database engine that was corrupt.

If you don't have automatic System Restore setup on your Windows computer however, then you are out of luck. The only possible solution (I haven't tried it) is to copy all the Simply database files to another working computer that "hopefully" doesn't have the same corrupt system files, and try to install and run the program and database from that computer, it may work.

Good luck
