Hi
Usually error 6A00 is caused due a paper jam in the sheet feed unit or near the print head. You can clean the print head with a hot water towel; make sure you do this with the unit unplugged and cartridges out. You can check this picture to clean the feed unit. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit. I would get in touch with Canon, to hopefully get it repaired. Not much you can do yourself sadly.

I have a PIXMA MP500 printer. It is showing an error code 6A00. Can't find any reference to this in the User's Guide. What does it mean; what should I do?

Try first unplugging the printer power cord for ten minutes, ansd see if this correct the error, if not we will proceed troubleshooting.

Action to fix Error Code 6A00

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

MP830 Error 6A00 Error Code Alarm Flashing and Copy button Flashing. Does not respond to unplugging or turning off and back on.

6A00 means the purge assembly is jammed. That's the unit that cleans the printhead. Sometimes it will last a while when cleaned, but I just replace them.
QM2-3032-000 about $20.00 but much easier at a shop.
