Question about Motorola Televison & Video

Open Question

Just received the new Qip7232 HD DVR that is in a closet. I have an MX 900 with an MRF 250 transmitter. The MX 900 was already programmed for Motorola and works when pointing at the box but not when closet closed and/or pointing away. I'm not sure I have the right location for the Rf signal on the front of the 7232. Please help.

SOURCE: No Satelite Signal Indication

The "front end" of your Receiver might be defective. Since your other unit is working then what might be happening is the signal to your unit might be dropping, to check this I would use a Satellite power meter, however if you do not have one you can use your other unit and connect it to the cable that your supposed defective unit is connected to. If the unit works then the problem is the supposed defective unit, if the unit does not work then this denotes a possible cable problem. Tell me if this works for you?

SOURCE: connecting HD cable box to DVR too HDTV

When I hooked up my HD cable box using an HDMI cable, I had to go into the cable screen menus and select HDMI output. You may have to do something similar when using an S-video cable. Your DVD recorder doesn't seem to have an HDMI input, so you'll have to use the S-video or (worst case) composite video (red, white, yellow cords). Your cable box may also be scrambling the signal so that you can't record. That may be why you can record by bypassing the cable box.

SOURCE: HDMI connection not working

I have a DCT6416 which is essentially the same unit but with a bigger hardrive. I just had the same problem and was able to fix it.
First connect your DVR to your TV with the composite RGB cables and disconnect the HDMI. Then power your unit on. Then power it off (using the power on the DVR not a remote) and immediatly press the menu button on the DVR (not the remote). A white screen with black writing will come up. Using the down arrow buttons on your DVR go to the bottom line where it says "reset factory default" Toggle down to that and then use the right arrow key and your settings will be reset. Then exit out of that by powering off. Now remove your composite cables and replace the HDMI. You should be back up and running.

SOURCE: remote will not work

Use your box and go into Menu then to Setup then Select, next Syst Setup go to Reset then go to Reset defaults use the mute select buttons at same time after double flash press 961 then go back and press mute select after the double flash press 00001 and presto the remote worked again!

Yeah I didn't have to reset everything.

Read all your screens first before just calling DirectTV!

You need to program your MX-900 remote for the Sharp TV. Obviously, it is working because it is very good at controlling something else.

I just switched to Verizon and have a Motorola DVR QIP7232 2 box. I want to link it to my Universal MX-350 remote but don't know the Code Number for the box. Anyone know it? Thanks

0396,0392,0399,0393. Check these codes. If you wish to get more details, check the sites linked here. Setup code list, and setup procedure to many popular brand remote controls are given. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy.

Why can't i see 1080p programs on my directv hd dvr? The test on the hdr says my receiver doesn't receive 1080p. My tv is a Sharp LC-62C42U which is suppose to receive 1080p!

Your DVR can't detect whether your TV can do HD or not. If the message is stating that your receiver (which is your DVR) can't receive 1080P, then you'll need to contact DirecTV for assistance. You may need to replace your DVR.

Dvr is programmed but at times "chooses" not to record show and other times it does record

Be sure that a DVR timer is set to fire, instead of an auto tune. Also if it is a series then make sure you select new episodes, your dvr will not recor a program if it has already recorded the same program once, ( re run) you can also check your scehdule in your dvr to check if timer has been deleted or modified.

it sounds as if your using HDMI out of the DVR to the TV which is fine but the better way to do this is to use the Component connections (red, Green, Blue) plus optical or coaxial from the DVR to the reciever and Component connections (red, Green, Blue) out of the reciever to the tv

I have new Polaroid TV/DVD combo & need code for my dish remote

Dish remotes generally will not program to combo units. There are a few exceptions but if you have already performed a power scan and have not had sucess you have one of the units that will not work. Dish is introducing a new receiver called a 222k which has a learning remote to prevent these types of issues. The 222k is a HD dussl tuner NON dvr receiver. It also has an expansion port that will allow a external hard drive to be connected to it which will allow the receiver to behave as a DVR unit but with added benefits an internal DVR model lacks.
Hope this answered your question and thanks for using FIx Ya. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Hi

Have questions about your upgrade? We've got the answers. What do I need to do to receive my upgrade? Nothing! Just make sure your DIRECTV HD DVR is continuously connected to your land-based phone line and you will receive the upgrade automatically. When will I receive my upgrade? The 6.3 software upgrade will roll out over a period of several weeks. Customers with more than one DIRECTV HD DVR may receive their upgrades at different times for each receiver. We appreciate your patience while we deliver these new and improved features to eligible DIRECTV HD DVR customers nationwide. Are all DIRECTV DVRs receiving this upgrade? No. DIRECTV DVR models SONY SAT-T60, PHILIPS DSR6000R and HUGHES GXCEBOT will not receive the 6.3 software upgrade. Other models received a similar upgrade, 6.2, in the past. I have a DIRECTV R10 DVR with 6.1 software. Will I receive this upgrade? No. The 6.1 software on the DIRECTV R10 DVR already includes the 6.2 features such as folders and faster menu scrolling. Will any of my DVR settings be changed as a result of the upgrade? Yes, some of your settings or preferences will be changed back to the factory default settings as a result of the upgrade. These include: "Favorite Channels," "Channels You Receive," "Spending Limits," "Clear Channel Banner Quickly" and "Dolby Digital" recording and output. What happens if I don't have my phone line plugged into my DIRECTV DVR? You will not be able to receive the upgrade if your DIRECTV DVR is not connected to your phone line. To install the upgrade, your receiver must successfully make a call to our servers. How will I know when I have received my upgrade? You'll receive an on-screen message the first time you visit DIRECTV Central after your upgrade is complete. It will also appear in your Messages section. You can also check your System Information screen to find out which software version you currently have. Will the download delete any of my currently saved programs? No. All of your saved programs will still be there for your enjoyment after the installation. Once your upgrade is complete... How do I activate the Grouping (folders) option? 1. Go to your Now Playing List. 2. Press Enter on your remote control. 3. Change groups to ON.
