First make sure the pump is running and water is flowing through the clorinator. (wont work if water isnt flowing). Make sure water is going in the right direction. (into chlorinator on the right side from the pump, and out of the chlorinator on the left side). The timer controls can be touchy.Try increasing the hours by holding the up arrow until the time is one hour more than you want, then use the down arrow to get it back to the time you want. Sometimes it wont cooperate with increasing the time and just stays at 1 hour, so you have to keep trying a few times.

I bought my saltwater chlorinator from an individual. They did not have the book. It reads 88 is that right? The number stays the same

That # is right for str8 filtering
Setting for chlorine generation you need to
Hold down arrow till it beeps
now hold up arrow till it beeps
while 00 is flashing quickly push up arrow till it goes to the hours you want it to run
Now repeat the arrow sequence

When I try to set the time on my intex 8110 I can set the time & when I leave it for 10 minutes it always goes to flashing 94. Is there something wrong with the pump or maybe it's possible I'm missing...

that sounds really weird. There is no code 94

Try locking it manualy

hold down arrow till beep
now hold up arroe till beep
now with quick pushes set desired hours of run with up arrow
now hold till beep on down arrow then hold down on up arrow till beep
the unit is now locked and should start it could take upwards of 10 minutes
If all else fails you can call intex with a valid receipt up to 2 years of purchase and they will replace it
Hope this helps

When I try to set the time on the system, it just keeps beeping and won't change. stays at 88. Any suggestions?

when setting the timer you need to hold down the down arrow till you hear it beep
Then hold down the up arrow till it beeps which I see you have gotten this far
Now with quick pushes set the hours with the up arrow let it sit for up to 10 minutes and it should lock itself and you should notice the second green light come on. Again, about 2-10 minutes

My led lights up 88 but when i push the buttons to unlock pad and set timer it wont do anything

are you holding down the pads long enough to hear a beep? hold down arrow till it beeps then hold up arrow till it beeps then set your hours with the up arrow
now let it lock itself and turn on.
This will take 2-10 minutes keep looking for the second green indicator this lets you know it is gen erating chlorine

I can't get the (Intex) salt generator to time set. It just stays on 88.

Did you attempt to unlock the keypad before trying to set the time? In case you didn't, these would be the proper steps:

Unlock the keypad by pressing and holding the "down arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep and then the "up arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep.

Set the number of hours you want it to run by adjusting the time display using the "up arrow" or "down arrow" until you have the correct number of hours.

After setting the time re-lock the keypad by pressing and holding the "down arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep and then the "up arrow" for 5-seconds until you hear a long beep. Several minutes later the Green LED should come on indicating the cycle has started.

88 flashes on display screen

Hold the down arrow till it beeps then hold the up arrow till it beeps When you see double zero then set the # of hours you want it to run with the up and down arrows.
Then you will need to lock it in use the down arrow again and wait for a longer beep then the up again till a long beep.
You are set remeber that it will take about 5 minutes for the chlorine light to come on
you can also go to intex.comm and watch the video or read the manual
