Hi Prajeet
To reset your BIOS password you need to call the NEC to give you a reset code. Most Computer manufacturers like DELL, HP do have password reset tool from their end. you just need to call them to ask for a reset code but expect to answer all security questions before they gave you the reset code.
Thanks for using Fixya.

As far as booting from the CD, try tapping the F8 key while the laptop is powering up. This should give you the option to boot from your CED rom drive. The laptop will begin to boot and then ask if you wish to boot from the CD and you must press a key to boot.

There are many web sites that give instructions on how to delete, change passwords. I don't give out this type of information because of the large numbers of stolen laptops.

If this suggestion was helpful, please rate it. Thanks.

You should reset your bios. In desktop computer you do it removing the bios battery for a minute or via a pins (old days). In the laptop you should remove the bios battery and the laptop battery.

What's the password for phoenix bios on nec versa e6500 notebook?

try the following; phoenix, PHOENIX, CMOS, BIOS
If that does not work you have two options.
1) remove all power and all batteries for about 15 minutes (there is a battery on the motherboard) and it should reset to blank. 2) if you can boot there are various bios hack programs to reset the bios but I would only do this as a last resort. I absolutely do not trust someone to hack the bios if I can avoid it.

Hi, i have nec NEC VersaPro vy12m/ex-m, but it locked hdd i don't have any password. i clear the cemos but nothing change. can you help me?

You might try resetting you BIOS back to default settings. Do this by turning PC on and right when it first comes on you should see some options on the screen that say F2 = BIOS set up or something like that. Any way press F2 at first screen you see when PC comes on. This will put you into the BIOS. It should look like this.

Use arrow keys to navigate to Auto Configuration with Defaults. This with set BOIS setting back original setting which should remove the password.

Hope this was helpful.
Good Luck

How to reformat back to windows vista ?

You need a windows Vista disc. Insert the disc and follow the prompts. I would format the hard drive instead of upgrading do a new install. The best way would be to go into your bios and make sure the boot device order has the cd-rom booting before the hard drive. Then put the disc in and start the computer, when it says press any key to boot from cd hit any key and let it load and then follow the prompts to install.

I have a NEC Versa p570 and has lost my password, How do i go around getting a new one?

if you want you can try to boot into bios and reinstall it from scratch ..bt if the password wil be there too and block your way t boot from cd ..than removing the Bios Battery gave you about 75% chances to get rid of the password...cause usually the bios battery its powering the chip that remembers settings and files associations ..and stuff like that ...but ...Im not in the knowladge what models exactly ..there are laptops that no longer store passwords in that ..but in another chip that no longer depends on power...in this case you deffenetly need to contact the manufacturer make the prove of ownership ...and get a back door password or something like that to unsecure that lock

Black Screen with Blinking dash on upper left corner

It sound like you are on the right track. It seem so be a bios conflict. I had a motherboard that if set to boot form usb it would not look for any other device it the usb was not available. Double check your bios setting very carefully. It's easy to miss some something. If you have a "CMOS clear" option in your bios try that next. Can't hurt to start fresh. If that doesn't work let me know and I brainstrorm some more.

My nec versa 2635cd wont boot from cd

most computer boot sequence is set up in the bios, you can access the bios if you watch the computer start and press the appropriate key, some are f2 as it boots or escape.
then enter bios look for the boot ......and make the cd first boot option.
then save the bios most by pressing f10 to save it, the computer will reboot......
then say press any key to boot from cd.
hope that helps
