SOURCE: oc failed

Could you please give us more details such as which computer (model number) and motherboard you're using? Do you know how to overclock and that's what you were doing? If so, you didn't overclock correctly and you need to change the settings back to the normal settings for your computer to boot up properly. You can change the settings in the BIOS, or "setup".

If you have correctly set the CPU in the BIOS, and saved the settings and still get the error, the CPU is not compatible with your system.

Most likely you have not set the BIOS right or have not saved it.

DNS lookup fail at random times

I can suggest you a solution. I am not sure whether it will work or not but you can try this and see if that works.

Open the setup page of Linksys router using 192.168.1.1.
On the setup page you will see Static DNS 1. Enter 4.2.2.2 in Static DNS1. And Enter 4.2.2.3 in static DNS 2 option. Save the settings.

See if this works.
Also make sure that firmware on your router is upgraded.

Reset the BIOS on a Compaq server 740 jumpers settings

Don,t do that insatead:
Entering the BIOS Setup menu Entering the BIOS Setup menu requires pressing a specific key at a specific time. If you fail to enter the Setup menu on your first try, repeat the following steps until you are successful:
  1. Close all applications that are currently running and restart the computer by clicking Start , Shut Down , Restart the Computer , and then OK .
  2. When the red Compaq logo or blue HP logo screen appears, press the F10 key on the keyboard to enter the Setup menu.

NOTE: An alternate to the above steps, especially if the logo screen disappears too quickly to enter BIOS, is to shut down (turn off) the computer. Wait 30 seconds, turn the power on and press F10 or F1 at the logo screen. Reloading the default settings Complete the following steps to reload the factory installed BIOS Setup settings:
  1. In the BIOS Setup utility, select the Exit tab.
  2. Select Load Setup Defaults .
  3. Select Save Changes and Exit (pressing F5 and the Enter key will also load the Setup Defaults).
  4. Press Esc and then Enter to exit Setup.

Oc failed

in this case i assume the 'OC' is refering to the overclocking facility in your bios, so firstly press F2 or Del when your pc is booting up and, unless you have changed any settings to cause the fault, look in the cmos settings for 'Load Default Settings', save settings and exit for a reboot and see if the same message pops up. If so you may need to check the memory is seated correctly and any other peripheral connected to your motherboard, assuming it is a desktop pc. Isf still no change try resetting the bios by way of a terminal called CLRCMOS or CLR CLK or JBAT1, but you will have to refer to yourmotherboard manula or post the board details back here.
