Hi,
You must use the following key code:
*#52828378#
the go to the item number 6 (ota setting) and change the size from 500 to a bigger size (like 2048), then you're able to install the programs up to 2mb.
Good luck

SOURCE: "jar file is over max size" show, when install

It seems that the programm you try to install is to big for your mobile. Try to free some space on your phone but if it still doesn't work it must be because your mobile simply can't handle such a big programm.

Samsung SGH-J700. I can't open .jar files from MicroSD on it.

It is a JDK Java X Runtime file

However, if you are still not able to run the file, here's what you can do:

  1. Right-click on the JAR file.
  2. Go to "Open With Other Applications".
  3. Select Show other applications.
  4. Select Open With OpenJDK Java X Runtime.
  5. If you don't find the Java option, install JRE.

How do I install .jad and or .jar files on SGH-a837 Rugby 2

.jad is a Java Application Descriptor.
.jar is a Jave Archive file. You don't need to open these files, because it does not contain human readable content. It is only used by Java script. Just leave them alone, because it could be there is a java script on your phone who needs them.

Downloaded jar are invalid in my gt e2222

You have landed on this page because you tried installing an application in your Samsung phone only to be prompted by this error: "JAR file is over max size" And now, you are looking for the solution for this error. I want to share to you the secret code that will resolve this "JAR file is over max size" error. I have tried this in Samsung Champ and it works. I am not sure if this will work in other Samsung Units, but it's worth a try. The reason why this error is prompted is because the default value for a jar file in Samsung units is 500 KB. So if your installation file (which is always in .jar file) is more than 500 KB, you cannot install it. But, I found a way to install .jar files which are more than 500 KB. Just follow this procedure. 1. In your keypad, type this code: *#52828378# 2. You will get the JAVA Test Menu after typing the above code, find the OTA Test menu and open it. 3. Then you will see the value 500 in Maximum JAR size field, change the value to a number higher than 500, i.e. 5000. 4. Save the setup 5. Now, go back to your jar file and install it You should be able to install it now.

Error on installing java games? i try to install a same game with the same phone, but my phone always saying that the download jar are invalid, while the oder phone installed the game correctly? please...

Hi,

before install games to your phone, make sure the java games (click to go free java games list) is compatible with your mobile phones, know your phone first especially entertainment capability features, including operation system or platform (like symbian, windows mobile, java mobile, flash etc), display screen resolution (like 128x160, 176x208, 176x220, 240x320, 320x240, 352x416 etc), 3D java support etc. (get free java games here) . If you get any sort of error, it's possible the games isn't compatible/or is not designed for your model. You will need to obtain a specific version for your model.

first of all Make sure the game is in a jar format (*.jar file) not a zipped file (*.zip or *.rar), most of games here are .jar format. If it has the zip or rar extension open the file in Winrar/winzip (download winrar) and look at its contents, if it has lots of files like a.class and image files then rename the *.rar (or *.zip) file as *.jar and transfer that to your phone. If in the zipped file it has a jar file and other files, extract just the jar file and transfer it to your phone. some phone models also need .jad format file to install the game, check out this post: Create .Jad file for .jar format Java games and apps, download any of .jad generator tools, create your .jad file and transfer .jar and .jad file to your phone.

When transferring the java games to your phone via usb cable, bluetooth, infrared, memory card (how to transfer photos, ring tones, games to your phone), the games and applications folder may not appear, this is normal. All you have to do is copy the file to the root directory (the main folder) and the phone will put the files into the correct places itself. There is no need to put the game in the others folder as it will just be a waste of time and the game will not work.

open/run the jar file to install the games, then enjoy it.

I have samsung champ gt-c3303 .It cannot run any java supported file what can i do for it ?

Just place a jar files(games or apps) on a memory card. Then just click on the apps or games it will install. Samsung champ will only install below 500 kb/apps or game, if you want to install higher than that just used this code by dialing *#52828378# you will go to Java Test Menu, then go to OTA test, change 500 to 4000 then save. You can now install as much higher than 500 kb but less than 4 mb.

Same exact problem

Low memory could definitely cause some problems especially when you're getting text messages and games you're loading into along with programs. I'd say the best bet for you to do is get yourself a memory chip and there are some out there that have crazy gigs for phones. Check that out and you'll be fine after that.

Samsung SGH-J210 Java app download error

This error may be because of
1. the JAR file size limit on your cellphone.
2. the file itself is corrupt.
3. the file has install site locked. (some java games can only be downloaded and installed from a particular site)
