I have a conair steam machine model #GS10RH that leaks. Can it be fixed and where can I get parts.

  • Darren Lindstrom Apr 09, 2011

It is a garment steam machine, or fabric steamer, model GS10RH

  • Darren Lindstrom Apr 09, 2011

It looks like it is coming from the heating tank.

I had a bad feeling about the outcome, but thanks for verifing my thoughts.

Hi,
Exactly what do you mean by "Conair Steam machine" There are a number of things that could be refered too by that...
Do you have a model for your unit....

That aside.... Yes most anything can be fixed but often it is not economically feasable...often the repair and the time involved will be more then the cost to replace the unit. Of course this will depend on the replacement cost of the machine.....
Anything under $200. replacement cost is usually not worth even looking to repair.

Can you tell if the tank is leaking or if the leak is coming from where the tank seals into the machine???
Or... does the water come from the machine tank???
The first thing will be to identify exactly where the water is coming from...

    That is not good news....
That tank would be the hardest part to fix....often the seams of the tank come apart and cause the leak...
Till you would get the unit apart and then get the tank fixed you will be better off to get a new unit...

The steam comes out of the water reservoir cap instead of the steam Jet Nozzle.

I can only guess since I have never worked on one of these units, but I think you lost a gasket on the cap. Pressure must build in the reservoir before being forced out the nozzle.

Why no steam on polti 715 no steam

I had this problem, that is, my Polti 715 would not create an steam at all. It turned out that the boiler/steamer unit inside the Polti was badly corroded. So the only way to fix it was to replace the boiler/steamer unit inside. I had to send my Polti to an authorized repairer to have it fixed. The reason for the corrosion was that I did not follow the manufacturers instructions fo run the Kalstop solution through the machine every few months to stop calcification in the boiler.

Brushes won't turn

this would be a bad turbine and is fairly simple to replace. first take all the screws from the base of your steam vac. then look toward the top under the dirty water tank there will be a black tube with 4 screws that also need to be removed. i believe after this you should be able to remove the hood assy. if not there may be one more screw on the hood, if so remove. at this point you should see the bad part.take 2 more screws and hoses from it and install the good part. hope this helps, this machine is fairly new to me also.
