There is a built in partiton on your hard drive containing the original windows and programs that were installed when you first bought the laptop, this can be accessed by pressing alt & f10 when the laptop is first switched on

How do i set a recovery programe to go back to factory settings

Your going to need the factory disks to do this. The factory disks have drivers and all the original software that came with your laptop computer when purchased. Some companies are turning to the web to provide factory disk downloads at a certain web site to save money or shipping of factory disks for their computers. In any case you will have to have the factory disc to restore to factory settings and software on your laptop.
Once you obtain that then it is simple from there. Place the disk in the tray and boot it will begin the process of installing your machine all over again. If you have files and things you wish to save do it before you load the disk for its factory restore. "You will loose any unsaved information"
That is mainly the right process to do this. "Obtain a Factory Restore Disk" John

Acer 5535 will not boot up

Hi,

I understand that the Windows is not loading on your computer. It may happen due improper shutdown of the computer or any files corrupted. Please try the steps below to resolve the issue:
1. Keep on tapping F2 key on your computer keyboard as soon as you hit the power button.
2. Then press F9 key, press "Y" to confirm and then Press "F10" and press "Y" to confirm, the computer will restart.
It should take care of the issue, however, if the issue still persists, then follow the below mentioned steps:

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the data on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

How to format my acer aspire 5535-5050 laptop and i don't have any windows cd's or computer cd's ???

Hi and Welcome to Fixya!

You cannot really format the machine without the help of disks. But the next best thing that you can do is just reset the machine to its original settings (this is assuming that you've got a problem with windows). Be sure that you've backed up your files though before doing this.

For an Acer machine, just press Alt+F10 when you boot up the laptop. You will see Acer Recovery Management, select "restore system to factory default settings" then follow the instructions.

Hope this helps!

I want to take my acer aspire back to the factory setting but dont have a cd how do i do it

Acer are cheap and they don't provide you with a factory restore disk. You need to make this factory disk yourself. I know how to do this, but it is to much for me to type and here is a really really good reference site for you to visit to get instruction to make your own factory restore disk. After making that restore disc,  pop the disk into your laptop and turn of your laptop and restart and the factory restore program should start, if it should not start then go into your bios menu and have it boot from your Dvd-Rom and save, after full restoration, make sure you turn your boot priority back to where your Os is being installed, exm hard drive.

Acer 5535 how to restore back to factory settings

Hi

Thank you for your query

Restoring a laptop back to its factory settings can be done in one of 2 ways

1) Some manufacturers provide the recovery CD/DVD, simply put this disc in and restart the PC, the DVD/CD should boot and then you can follow the onscreen instructions

2) Some manufacturers provide hard drive based recovery, this mean rather than provide a CD/DVD,manufactueres put the recovery on a section of the hard drive. To use this method you click on start>Programs then find the name of the manufacturers folder. In this folder there will be a programme titled system recovery, factory settings. Click on this and follow through on the instructions

You could try to first put the disk in and after restart click "repair". If that does not work you probably have to re-install the whole operating system.
