Designjet T 770 error 87:10

Actually it has to do with a "dirty' encoder strip. The carriage cannot read the strip due to a coating of ink-over spray from time. My suggestion it to call in a Service professional who is familiar in cleaning Wide Format printers. Other areas also are in need of cleaning, lubrication as well. My plotter is saying that there is an error, number 87:10 What is this, and what can i do do? Its a HP Designjet T610.

The printer is having a problem finding the Scan-axis encoder reading.
Start by upgrading the firmware. Go to Go to Support and Drivers.
Enter your printer model, select your operating system, select firmware.
Follow the directions.
If that doesn't fix the problem, clean the encoder strip( the flat metal strip that runs the length of the printer).
If the problem persists, someone trained on DesignJets is going to have to look at it.
Hopefully, the firmware will fix the problem.

HP designjet t1100ps error 21:13

This is a service station error indicating that the printer could not move the pirnthead mechanism over the service station. First check to see if there is anything in the carriage path such as a piece of paper blocking the carriage. If there is not then it is likely a bad service station that will require replacement. Always try powering pirnter off then on to see if it was temporary error.

Printhead path error type 2

The cause of the error is because the carriage is not moving normally. This could be caused by a number of things. Unplug the printer while the carriage is moving in print area of the printer. Open the top cover and manually push the carriage to its limits left and right. Listen and feel for any obstruction and correct anything that is in the way.

Check the condition of the carriage belt. If there are rubber crumbs under the belt, replace the belt.

Clean the encoder strip with a soft cloth and warm water. Use canned air to blow out the encoder sensor under the carriage (aim the air tube parallel to the encoder strip on both sides and give it a blast. The sensor is on the bottom of the carriage in the middle).

If the tube assembly has been changed, be sure the tubes are routed correctly. Remove and throw away the screws on the rear door behind the ink supply station.

How do I replace the carriage drive belt on designjet 500

there is nothing easy about this problem. you need torx 8,9,10, and 15 drivers. remove the right cover, remove the service station without breaking it, remove the right frame that holds the service station, release the belt tensioner, remove the encoder strip, remove the display, disconnect the trailing cables, remove the belt, remove the carriage assembly, replace the belt, reverse the process. please be discouraged about this process. this is not an easy repair. if you can find someone someone who is certified on this repair it should take them 60-90 minutes. you can look up the cost of the belt at HP Parts Store. there are only 2 models 24" or 42". my recommendation would be to find an authorized hp dealer. ask them for a quote, the pricing should vary between $300-400. if you can find it cheaper i would be highly suspect and if you've had this printer for awhile then spend the money. make sure they clean and lubricate the rail assembly. good luck!

Hp designjet 1050 problem

Oiled the slider rods and ensure there was no debris or damage in the printhead path.
You may also want to check the quality of the encoder strip *CAREFUL! IT IS VERY SHARP* and the belt that moves the carriage.
