If you mean for one ink module, that will completly depend on the different types of pictures.... Beach scenes will eat up browns and reds, just like sunsets eat red/yellow, sky eats blues and so on.... Too hard to make the call.... Take care!!! Too much red

I'm assuming that the colour cartridge is a three in one. Blue, Yellow and Magenta.

When printing a colour document, the printer automatically balances colour mixtures from the three primary colours listed above. Should a print out be too red, its probably because its run out of yellow and/blue.

The best way to check is to print out a test page, you should get a block for each of the colours and black. If one's missing, there's your answer.

My DCP-115C printer was missing red colour.

Yellow is one of the colours used to produce a shade of red.

I don't know how but ther must be a way to print a test page to see if the print heads need cleaning I've never used a brother.

The yellow print head is clogged or you are out of yellow ink. You can try to get it flowing with a warm wet paper towel by rubbing and and pressing it into the towel.

Red cast on all prints

Sounds crazy, but have you got the LM (light magenta) and M (magenta) tanks or inks mixed up?

Also - check the profiles, if you've got a colour profile set up, you may have applied it twice, which would make a magenta cast...

No true colours in Epson Stylus Photo 1400

Given that you are using a dye-sublimation ink I have to ask if you're basing the colours you're getting on the results on your substrate or on the finished product (after you've done the heat transfer).

Beyond that you should probably ask the supplier if they have a colour profile for their inks. If not you can look for one of the services available. I can't make any recommendations but communication with this company has been quite positive

Excessive Yellow ink use

The printer software should have an option for head cleaning & alignment. Make sure to run these maintenance options and see the results. You may need to re-run the tests.

Sometimes generic inks can cause a problem, so after cleaning, try to use an oem cartridge (same company as your printer) and observe the results.
