Radio system has usually at least 2 different power supplies, one for radio (when key on or in accessories position) and one for memory, which is a constant 12 volt source. Have you checked to make sure you have both of them? Make sure you have a good ground source as well. Here is a link to go to and look up your vehicle for stereo wiring. It will tell you what color wire in the harness does what, to make it easier to find problem . Scroll down page and click on your make, then model etc. then stereo wiring.

Dodge ram radio

There were three sound sytems offered in the 2003 model year. If 20A fuse 14 and 15A fuse 1 in the fuse block are OK, power should be getting to the radio and the separate power amplifier. The amplifier may be defective or the connection to the factory radio may be defective.

Chevrolet Venture Problems

What is the circuit in question powering? There is more than just a radio, there may be amps, antennas, clocks, and lights in the radio that is a separate circuit. Look close at the wiring diagram and make sure none of those things apply. For example, if the antenna gets power from the radio, but is fed from another fuse, there is the tie. Or speed sensing control, ties to the speed control and feeds through the radio. Things can get complicated. You may also have a shorted or miss wired device. If anyone has changed the wiring or components from factory, I would suspect that first.

I have a 2000 chevy venture minivan that wont start due to a short. it blows fuses only when i plug in the stero system. i bought another stereo thinking it was a bad radio but it does the same thing.

to isolate your problem: run a power source from auxiliary power from the fuse box to your radio, connect this to your radio where the fuse connector, this will not interrupt any other fuse which cause to blow due to over loading. Your radio should work w/out any interruption. good luck.

02Ford Taurus windows windshield wipers locks wont work

Sounds like the wire you used for power was oon the circut for all those other things, or if you pulled the fuse box down to hook radio up through the fuse box, you may have grounded out some wires, or knocked them loose. Use a test light or voltmeter and make sure you have power at the fuse box for wiper, dashlight, trunk release, door lock fuses.

Radio stooped working. I bought a new one and it wont work either. I thought I checked to fuses. What fuse powers the radio?

Check all of your fuses. Today's radios require two power sources to work. One constant (to retain memory) and one switched.

Radio not working.

Check all your fuses. There is a fuse for radio ONLY. Find the radio fuse and check it.
