I am glad to HELP YOU!

If your machine is TURNING OFF out of the blue that indicates it could be two causes:
1. Your cooler fan is damaged and the system is protecting itself of OVERHEATING by turning off once the internal temperature is increasing over the normal limits.
In this case you have to check the fan [by opening your laptop] and to replace it with a similar model.

2. Your source is working "ups and downs". So you don't have a steady voltage/amperage and this might be the reason your machine is switching off by itself. Unplug the Power Supply Unit and using a electrical measuring device check if it respects the designed parameters.

Good luck!
My best regards!

It could be due to Laptop over heating, which generally occurs due to fan failure and it may damage the system, if not checked properly. Another cause of overheating is the dust present inside the laptop, which clogs the fan and heatsink.
1. Make sure the fan is running. (if not, it needs replacement)
2. Inspect the PC for any dust/ clogging inside it.

If so, I suggest that you should get you laptop checked by a professional for servicing. I believe immediate action is required to prevent any damage to your machine and data.

Hope it Helps! Let me know if i could be of any further assistance.

Why does my Disco 2 R990 radio switches itself on and off at random

Is there a laptop near by? Some (most older) laptops, can send out infra red codes. Used for infra red communication with hardware. I once was shocked when my lights went on and of without any cause. Till I found my very old laptop did so, when I used certain buttons.
Perhaps even another remote control is sometimes giving the right code, just to switch on?

My Toshiba laptop suddenly switched off by itself

Overheating When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

Hi, My son's Advent 4211-B notebook won't switch on. No power at all. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.

2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.

3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.

4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Your response is very much appreciated...

I just bought an HP mini 210 - 2080 and its keeps on turning off by itself.Sometimes it goes on but then it switches off again and again!

Try logging in safe-mode and see if it switches its self off.
To log on in safe mode, power the laptop on and keep pressing F8, choose safe mode using the arrow buttons, continue to log on. when you successfully log on, leave the laptop for some time to see if it will switch itself off, if it does switch itself off, then definitely, that will be a hardware related problem.
if it does not, then that's a virus causing it, email on xrojer2005@yahoo.com to solve the software related problem.

Computer turns itself on

if you can get into bios check and see if there is any type of alarm or auto on set up. If not or if its not that big of a deal just use the switch on the back of the power supply at night. Make sure you shut down your computer before switching this. It will definately keep the computer from turning on by itself.
