Try installing the latest video driver. The current (possibly the wrong one) will not let you select a resolution greater than 1024X768.
Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop the drivers you that require that matches theWindows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link to get to theAcer support: -
