Hello, I cleaned the rolling pieces.

It keeps having the same behavior as before

It works fine for the first pages, but after all, it cannot enroll the new page, as if the rolling force was not enough.

the automatic document feeder seems to work well for a while, and then, after some pages; it cannot enroll the next page. But at the begenning, it works perfectly. So I would like to know if there would not be any piece I should settle to insure the adf keeps working as for the first pages. THanks in advance.

Paper jam usually happens due to dirty or in some cases worn out paper pick up roller. I think, cleaning the pickup roller would fix the issue. Remove the paper input tray. Open the top cover (ADF) by pulling it from the back.
Inspect for any tron peices of paper dirt etc. Locate the rollers and clean them with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Also, you may clean the Sheet-fed scanner (Mirror and white platten) for better copy/ scan results with a dry cloth. DONT USE PAPER, CHEMICALS OR ANY ABRASIVE CLOTH as it may damage the parts.
Moreover, make sure that the paper you are using is atleast 80gm.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Looks like the problem is mechanical. The motor may not be functioning properly or there could be any loosing in the paper picking mechanism. Check the ADF throughly n see if you can identify the fault. Else, you may seek assistance from a professional/ authorized service center.

Welcome to FixYa!

Always use print materials that meet the guidelines for use with this machine. Using print materials that are not recommended may cause paper jams or print quality problems.

Guidelines for Paper and Special Materials:

When selecting or loading paper, envelopes, or other special materials, keep the following guidelines in mind.

  • Printing on damp, curled, wrinkled, or torn paper can cause paper jams and the poor print quality.
  • Use only high quality copier grade paper. Avoid paper with embossed lettering, perforations, or texture that is too smooth or too rough. Paper jams may occur.
  • Store paper in its **** wrapper until ready to use. Place cartons on pallets or shelves, not on the floor. Do not place heavy objects on top of the paper, whether it is packaged or unpackaged. Keep it away from moisture, or other conditions that can cause it to wrinkle or curl.
  • During storage, you should use moisture-proof wrap, such as any plastic container or bag, to prevent dust and moisture from contaminating your paper.
  • Always use paper and other materials that conform with the specifications
  • Use only well constructed envelopes with sharp, well creased folds.
  • Do not use envelopes with clasps and snaps.
  • Do not use envelopes with windows, coated lining, self-adhesive seals, or other synthetic materials.
  • Do not use damaged or poorly made envelopes.
  • Load special paper types one sheet at a time.
  • Only use materials specifically recommended for use in laser printers.
  • To prevent special materials, such as transparencies and label sheets from sticking together, remove them as they print.
  • Place transparencies on a flat surface after removing them from the machine.
  • Do not leave transparencies in the paper tray for long periods of time. Dust and dirt may accumulate on them, resulting in spotty printing.
  • To avoid smudging caused by fingerprints, handle transparencies and coated paper carefully.
  • To avoid fading, do not expose the printed transparencies to prolonged sunlight.
  • Store unused materials at temperatures between 15°C and 30°C (59°F to 86°F). The relative humidity should be between 10% and 70%.
  • Make sure the adhesive material on your labels can tolerate fusing temperatures of 200°C (392° F) for 0.1 second.
I hope this helps.

PE16 xerox

You have to remove the 4 screws from the back of the machine, and remove the back cover.
Then remove both side covers. They are on with plastic tabs on the sides. They will with some work pop off.
Be sure NOT to break the wire to the speaker when removing the covers.
You next have to remove the connectors from the document feeder and scanner located on the right side of the machine looking from the rear. Also unscrew the ground wire.
Remove 2 screws from the back portion of where the scanner is connected to the frame, just above the fuser.
Slowly remove the scanner/feeder assembly. They interlock into the front of the machine.
Remove the document feeder from the scanner. Just slides out.
Lay the scanner glass side down.
Remove the screws holding the controle consol on, remove and unplug the consol. Then take the screws out of the scanner, from the top, that hold the scanner together. There are a couple of tabs you need to release to seperate the upper and lower scanner.
Then you have to carefully pop the tabs in the scanner head to release the lamp assembly from the CCD assembly to clean the mirrors, being very careful not to break one of the mirrors in the process of popping the tabs to realease the lamp bracket assembly.
Clean with a soft cloth and glass cleaner, then repeat the procedure in reverse to put it back together.
Take your time and be sure you get everything plugged back in.
You just about take the machine down to nothing to clean the scanner.
Not difficult, But please take your time and make notes, or careful mentally make notes so reassambly is easier.
Hope this helps.
