Question about Canon CanoScan N1220U Flatbed Scanner
I need a driver for my scanner Canon N1220U ( LIDE)
I have Windows Vista installed in my computer.
Just use the program listed on the following site for the n1220u. I've tested it out myself and it does work.

Ok, I think I managed to get my Canoscan N650U working with Vista using the XP drivers from the Canon website.
Download the drivers and extract all the files to a directory on your PC.
Connect the scanner, the popup will appear saying found new hardware, normally it wants the files from the CD, but there is an option to find the drivers at a particular location, choose that and point it to where you downloaded the XP Canoscan drivers. Let it install. You should then see it in control panel and can test it OK.

Go to the http://www.canon.com website and type your scanner model number in there by the SUPPORT DOWNLOADS. You should the specify that you are using Windows Vista and it should offer you a driver to download and install

did you install the drivers? they were probably downloaded compressed- you need to look at your download list and install from there. don't know if vista refers to it as install wizard, as xp does, but check that the download was actually opened and installed. otherwise, it's sitting on your hdd doing nothing useful. i'm not familiar with vista, know a lot of people who tried it and switched back to xp. still waiting for the user reports for w7. supposed to be a great improvement on vista! so we wait and watch!
anyway, check out whether your patch for your scanner actually was installed!

Testimonial: "Thanks a lot.Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.connected the scanner to my PC- Windows XP.Canon replied that it does not support Vista 64bit."
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
