This will depend on your motherboard and PSU power supply unit connections they could IDE or SATA these will determine what sort of hard drive you will need also you could get adapters to fit from IDE to SATA and in reverse but i prefer to do without these adapters i think the SATA would be best it has less connecters and the ones it has are a wider copper slat type where as the IDE has the 40 pin ribon type
