Viking outdoor grill, VGBQ410-3NSS

My control knobs and ingition machanisims were burned because of the oil from the BBQs. I like to repair them but I don't know which parts to order and replace. My burner units wad been replaced about 2 years ago and still in good condition.

No you need to replace the valve behind the knob as well most likely this is what caused the flame.

SOURCE: low flame on burner...

Remove the burner and check the flexible tubes for kinks or blockages. The flexible tubes usually just slip over the backs of the valves. Spiders love to get in there and block them. Also check that the holes in the burners are not clogged. Be careful when reseating the flexible tubes to be sure that they are properly seated on the back of the valves. Failure to properly seat the flexible tubes can cause leakage there, and the gas can ignite at the back of the valves and not reach the burner. Be certain that the replacement burner is designed to use with your grill and the flexible tubes mate properly with the back of the valves.

SOURCE: Outdoor grill with no gas pressure, little heat

TURN THE TANK OFF , THEN REMOVE BURNER ASSEMBLY AND CHECK FOR OBSTRUCTION IN THE GAS LINE AREA . IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR SPIDERS TO BUILD WEBS INSIDE THE TUBES AND CAUSE MAJOR PROBLEMS

Replacing ignitor

That is not really enough to tell us what you need.
We repair a lot of Viking model barbecue grills and stock all the various ignition parts. As Viking changed fabrication strategy the appliances have gotten much better through the years. An electrode purchased today for a Viking will not look the same as the original electrode but the new, longer, double-pronged electrodes work a lot better, are built a lot heavier, last a lot longer and cost less than the originals.
The only difference between the module and electrode and button architecture in a Viking when compared to any other high-end grill is the inner firewall. Between the control panel and the inside firewall inside the grill where the burners connect to the valves, there is a second firewall designed to hold-off heat damage created by certain problems (usually resulting from poor assembly after cleaning). The new Viking electrodes are long and thick but the back-end is also long which makes sure the electrode wires are far away from the heat of the firebox.
Other than that the 9volt module, button and electrodes are no different from any other high-end grill.
We do have exploded schematics of where all the grill parts belong in a Viking so contact us if you want copies of this information.

The center burner knob on my jenn-air grill gets hot, the far left knob is off, and the outside cover is showing burning residue

From what you have described, it sounds like the offending burner tube is partially clogged and causing the burner flames for back fire and heat the control panel. To solve this, you will need to remove the burner and clean it and it's venturi valve thoroughly. You can accomplish this with a soft bristle brash grill brush or an old tooth brush.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa. Happy Grilling!!

Rotisserie burner has to be lit with a match and will not stay on by itself. I have to push control knob in, even after it is hot. Also looking to replace igniter for left burner. Thanks.

From what you are describing, it sounds like your rotisserie burner may have a bad thermocouple. You can order the parts from Viking, the igniter for the left main burner will require you to remove the front panel to replace, but is fairly straight forward after that. To replace the thermocouple, you will have to fish it down from the burner and under the grill to behind the front panel, not hard, just time consuming.

2 of the 3 knobs on our Weber Grill partially melted also - can this be repaired? Same problem as Josh in a previous request.

Sounds like the gas valves for your burners are leaking, igniting the gas and casing the control panel to get hot and melt the knobs. It can be possibly repaired, but it will involve dismantling the control panel to access the valves and replacing them. You can get the parts directly from Weber.

I cant find my serial number on my outdoor viking profesional barbeque i need it to see whats guranteed , and order parts

Manufacture's put this information in a variety of places, check the back of the cart/grill, check inside the door, check the underside of the grease pan, and then, pull out the grease pan and get down on your knees and check up above where the grease pan slides in. Hopefully, it will be in one of these places.

Viking grill burner is clogged and fire is shooting out of knob. How do I clean my grill from excessive grease.

Is it still under warranty? I'd call Viking or a qualified repairman to fix it. If your burners are clogged, the flames should be coming out the venturi tube and flaming towards the gas valve knob. If the flames are coming out of the gas valve itself, then it will need to be regreased. If the burners can be removed without too much trouble, soak them in the sink with hot water and dishwashing detergent. Be sure to remove the knobs, so no one turns the gas on without the burners connected. If it's difficult, call a repairman.

Hello. Use ammonia. If you can remove the burner, wrap it in ammonia soaked newspaper layers and slide it into a large plastic bag overnight. Joe
