Stainless Steel handles burn my hand while cooking.

While cooking the lid, pot and skillet handles get HOT and burn my hand.

Are there any replacement handles that I can screw into them and get rid of the stainless steel handles?

After years of cooking with handles that I can touch while cooking, I am constantly forgetting and burning myself. The thought of constantly having to grab a pot holder while cooking is awful. Especially if pot is boiling over, you need to lift the HOT lid quickly. Trying to find the pot holder would not be fun cooking.

Hopefully, you may have an idea on another handle from another model that would fit my set. I did notice the handles unscrew very easily and can come off.

My cookware is: Cook's Essential Stainless Steel Non-Stick Cookware (impact base) 18/10

Although you are cooking at home, always use the tool all chefs turn to for hot handle issues: a bar rag. Stainless handles are a great conductor of heat and will get very hot and real quick if left around or exposed to excessive heat sources. A common hand towel folded to your grip on the pan handle is good and a good oven mitt is ideal.

Okay, I got the lid off of my FCP280 coffee pot hooray! Is there a safe lubricant that I can use to help lift the lid off in the future? Thank you, Kathryn

Kathryn there are food grade lubricants. but any vegetable oil should work . I was going to suggest trying the lid rotating it all the way around the pot ,perhaps there is one place it just drops in and out as many older lids had a dimple in them to hold it on when pouring out hot liquid

The carafe for our Mr Coffee BVMC-PSTX91 leaks (has done so from the start). I can't tell if it is just dribbling from the spout and collecting in the joint between the plastic and stainless steel...

Coffee is leaking past the silicon gasket. To get to the gasket, look for a round plastic plug in the top of the handle and pry it up. Under the plug is a screw that prevents the top of the carafe from twisting off. Remove the screw. Will now be able to unscrew the the plastic handle/top part from the stainless steel pot.

Between the 2 pieces is a silicon rubber gasket. Clean everything good. lubricate the gasket all over with "Plumbers Faucet and Valve Grease" available from Ace Hardware. It is waterproof and resists high temperatures.

Replace the silicon gasket making sure the groove fits over the top lip of the pot. Screw the handle/top part on the pot clockwise. It will only twist a short distance, but make sure it is very snug.

You do not need to replace the screw. This will make it easier to take apart if it leaks again. You might be able to get by with petroleum jelly instead of plumber's grease.

The model#XQ698LT ITEM#W14A7123 and the Customer Service Phone#1 800 645 3869. The cost should be around $10 with Shipping and handling
