Go to google.com. type "hi" then search. Look at the left side of the screen. You will see you location name. Change it. They tell you your location by using you ip address NOT your router. Look at the picture below to understand

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I'm living in France and my google chrome defaults to france. i want it to default to the US. How do I make this happen?

hello there, sorry but there is no way you can achieve this. At least with your present internet connection, unless you are able to get an internet system which registers a US IP address as the google chrome uses the IP address which your internet connection registers to determine what location to register on your google chrome when it opens. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Hope this support has been helpful?

Yes.. you must change the search engine to google.com instead of google.uk. To do it just go to tools/options/... and change the search engine.
Good luck.

When iopen my google chrome it says it change its location but where

Sounds like your default settings are with another computer. This might help: http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=142065

If you allow Google Chrome to share your location with a site, the browser will send local network information to Google Location Services to get an estimate of your location. The browser can then share your location with the requesting site. The local network information used by Google Location Services to estimate your location includes information about visible WiFi access points, including their signal strength; information about your local router; your computer's IP address. The accuracy and coverage of Google Location Services will vary by location.
Google Chrome saves your location information so that it can be easily retrieved. This information is periodically updated; the frequency of updates depends on changes to your local network information.

After Chrome uninstall Web page icons gone

I fully agree and sympathize with you.

I faced a similar problem and here is the solution for it.

First uninstall Google Chrome (From what you have written; you have already uninstalled it).

Go to "Set Default Programs" (Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Default Programs)

Select Internet Explorer and click Set this program as default

Select Microsoft Office Outlook and click Set this program as default

Run Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and browse to location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ext and change the value data of all DWORD entries from 1 to 0.

Launch Internet Explorer first; launch your Mail client (hopefully Microsoft Officer Outlook).

Check if all is well and you are now able to open links from within your Mail client.

If all is well now, you may change your Default Program settings to Firefox.

P.S. Just remember to say thanks :) and you can always change the Firefox icons, you do know how?
