What I could recon from your question is that your audio driver is not installed in your reformatted PC.

Please find the Driver software's of your Audio and video inside the installation disk provided with the PC at the time of purchase, as u have not mentioned your PC make I am unable to give you the download link. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the PC.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

If you feel that my answers has helped you in any way then please give a vote.
Thanks.

Stop:0x0000007B error occurs when formatting the windows xp

It sounds like a boot sector virus, hardware issue or registry issue. When reformatting make sure you delete existing partitions and create a new one. Also if your trying to downgrade microsoft windows doesn't allow it. You will have to use gparted live cd and completely format the drive then try reformatting. for more info contact me at kryptonix@gmx.us

If your using a card take it out until you have XP installed.
Go into your bios and disable all your audio settings until you have XP installed.
Check and see if your audio is even compatible with XP.
Disconnect the any external devices that are connected to the audio input until XP is installed.
