Emergency Key - store in secure place NOT inside the safe. Remove the override cover in the centre of the face of Safe (its a silver plastic panel with Sandleford Electronic Safe ES20 on it), insert override key (a cyclinder key) - hidden underneath the override cover panel - and turn anti clockwise, rotate the knob clockwise to open door

The operating instructions on the ES20 as per the crappy manual:

Open safe using emergency key provided

Insert batteries in the box inside the door

Opening the safe
a. pre-set factory code 159
b. input 159 (the yellow light will flash and the buzzer will beep), then press B or A button, the green light will be on, rotate the knob clockwise, pull outwards, the door is opened

Closing the safe: close the door, input the code (the green light will flash for 5 secs). Turn the knob anti clockwise, the control system will activate and the safe will be locked

Changing the code: open the safe, press the red button located inside the door, the yellow light will go on indicating the code can be changed. Input the new code (1-8 digits), then press A or B button, it shall be confirmed by two beeps indicating the new code has been accepted and stored. If the yellow light and buzzer beeps 3 times the code is invalid - try again

Changing the Battery - If the red and green light are on this indicates that the batteries are low and require changing. To ensure the batteries have been installed correctly test before closing the door

These safes are **** and very easy to break into. Search a video posted by mepickulongtime and with a bit of persistance, you can do it too. The following is my story about the Sandleford ES20 N15115 safes. Im dissapointed with thier customer service and thier product, so everyone online is going to hear about it - here goes: Thank you so much for this video. Sandleford distribute these safes (ES20) at Bunnings hardware warehouses in Australia. I bought one 3 years ago and the crappy batteries died. I kept all the paperwork with the safe, noting the model, serial & Key numbers. I've misplaced the key and called Sandleford customer service in Melbourne on 03 9786 0055 and asked them to send me a key, as instructed in the paperwork. Well, I was told that "they don't distribute keys for that model, and your going to have to get a locksmith in to break open the safe". Well I said "thanks for your help" and hung up. I did a search and came across your video. The safes are ****, and people need to know not to waste $80. I had to be a little persistent with tapping the top and twisting the knob. Once you get it, it's great, and you can do it over & over again. I've since saved my hand, replaced the batteries, and it works fine - but now no longer store valuables in the Sandleford "safe". Thanks once again, Gary

Sandleford es20 safe won't open

Find something long & thin, I used a screwdriver. Has to be at least as long as depth of safe. There are 2 holes in the back of my sandleford ES 20 safe. Insert screwdriver into hole on left & push in until it hits the door on the other side. You have to do the next bit blind, but feel around for reset button. Once you find button use screwdriver to press. Lock will beep & you then just have to put your new code in. Problem solved. Of course this method only works if there is nothing inside the safe getting in the way of access.
Once inside remove anything valuable & find somewhere secure to keep it. This method took about 30 seconds to gain access. I'd hate to think how quick a professional thief could open it.

Unable to open electronic safe

Locksmiths say this is how to install sentry safe batteries
slide open the battery cover located just below the keypad.
Insert a paper clip or pen point into the small hole in the cover. Push in while sliding cover to the right. Disconnect and remove the battery holder. Insert the 4-batteries as indicated.
reconnect the connector and put back the battery holder. Slide the cover back in place.
How do I insert the batteries on my advanced electronic lock safe? On the newer model Fireproof Sentry Safes my locksmith recommended me To install batteries,
turn the electronic lock case to the right and remove. Insert four new batteries as indicated, replace the electronic lock case and turn to the left to reassemble.

Can't open safe

Local service centres or supplier can usually reset the electronic key for you by overriding the system lock by keying in a certain service code. However, this depends on the capabilities of the specific model. Please find the local service centre for your brand of safe and talk to them.

Changing the code on standleford es20 safe

If the problem is that the safe is not accepting your pin code, try first code 159A, or 159B that are default codes to open the safe.

If you have the sentry key, open with key, and there is a red button inside the door to reset the code.

If you have no key and default code does not work, call sandleford number at 03 97750699 they will guide in opening the safe.
